In the winter by the street, I get in my car. past a gas station towards the west, I drive to the store.
In the store past the hunting things, I get fishing bait and tackle. after getting gas in a town I drive to the river.
On the ice under the brig, I unpack my things.
On the ice near the tree, I find a spot.
Over rock on the ice, I set up tip ups. by my tip ups between to trees, I drill ice fishing holes
In front my tip ups over my ice fishing holes, I set up tent.
At 10:00 am during snowfall, I start fishing

As I stood on the board, I imagined myself soaring through the air, picturing every move I made until sliding into the water as perfectly as possible. I competed as a Springboard Diver for six years. I felt the stock of my bow while I was sitting in the blind. Frost had already began to form where I rubbed it off seconds ago. I looked through the small window at the everlasting snow. “Wait, was that a deer moving along those trees?” I asked myself. It looked more like a kangaroo making its way through the snow. I could barely stand up in the cold. I pulled back, ready to take the shot.…

As I crossed the road with my dog Henry, I could feel the frigid winter breeze on my face. Then I felt a snowflake land on my nose like a plane landing after a long flight. I didn’t like this cold weather at all but I had heard many children around me cheering and laughing. I heard things like “woohoo it is snowing” and things like “oww don't throw snowballs at my face”. That last one made me chuckle a little bit when I had heard it. Then I heard someone yell my name, which is Brian by the way. So I turned around and felt a big snowball hit my back.…

I bought two pounds of Alaskan King Salmon today. To me, the most exciting thing about cooking salmon has to be making sure in getting the skin nice and crispy. Score, salt, pepper, cajun spice, oil….skin side down, a touch of butter. And that!...keeps the salmon so moist! One of my most favorite things to cook is a great succotash with fish. Just mindblowing! Start by caramelizing onions in the pan, add corn, red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers, zucchinis, and squash. The salmon is resting.…

It was a cold snowy morning on the frozen shores of Lake Superior. I unloaded all of my ice fishing supplies from my truck and back my ATV out of the trailer. The ice was at least a foot thick by this time of year according to the people in town more than safe enough for the trip out on the lake. I gassed up my ATV and strapped down all my gear and headed out to my shanty. Trying to navigate in these conditions is very treacherous having only a general idea on the whereabouts of my shanty is would be difficult. Finally, the weather cleared for a few minutes allowing me to spot my shanty that was luckily still standing. I unlocked the door and fired up my ice drill which drilled through the ice like a hot knife through butter.I turned on my heater and waited for it to warm up which felt like an eternity in the frigid winter temperatures that hovered around zero and the biting wind outside made it almost unbearable. I waited for my father and his brothers to arrive with the…

Fishing bait is a generic term for any type of substance or material which is used to attract fish to a fishing hook or line. Traditionally, before fishing became a modern sport, anglers would use anything they could get their hands on for example; worms, flies, small bait fish, night crawlers and insects. As the times have changed and some people’s opinions of fishing with live bait have changed, so has the variety of bait that has become available.…

These lakes are filled with an enormous amount of fish ranging from hundreds of different species. These lakes attract Americans who come over the border to try their luck at fishing and revisit the place they once came to as a child. The annual Yelle fishing trip to Minaki, Ontario is the most enduring tradition in the Yelle family because of the history of the trip and the multi-generational involvement.…

I believe that ice fishing is the best type of fishing to build, strengthen, and polish a relationship between a father and his son. Fishing from a boat, shore, or on a river offers opportunities to get to know each other and spend quality time near each other. However, there is something very powerful about being so cold, your nose freezes with each inhale and exhale, that creates a picture-perfect setting to engage in deep and meaningful discussions.…
