When he got a little closer, he saw a very large animal who was covering an abnormally large amount of ground in a short amount of time. He describes the animal as to cover about fifteen to twenty feet in just two strides, while not running. The creature made absolutely no noticeable noise. He mentions what he saw was the creature standing seven to seven and a half feet tall and an estimated five hundred pounds in weight. He describes the creature as being muscular and covered with dark fur, with long arms and hunched over posture. The deer hunter states that the creature moved quickly down the hillside and was gone in just a few seconds. Like both of the above incidents, it happened in a wooded area which provides plenty of coverage for the…

My breath is soft and slow, and the only thing that I can hear is the faint howling of the wind. I pull back the string and wrap my fingers around the arrow. I aim and let loose. The arrow flies and hits right on the target. Archery is one of the things that I live for, as well as soccer and listening to music. My culture is what I do on a day to day basis and what is a large portion of my life.…

When we got there, it was 6:35, and that meant that we had one minute to wait and put our full magazines into our guns. Finally, it turned 6:35am so that meant we could put in our magazines. Right away when we were walking down the trail to get to the spots we wanted to get to, Charlie saw a deer. It was right in line with us, looking at us, like…

It was late October and as a high school football trainer, he finally had a Friday evening off and wanted to make the most of it. We drove south to my uncle's farm in Owen County, Kentucky, and stayed the night in his very primitive trailer to stage an early morning hunt. That morning my father and I headed into the woods with our muzzle loading rifles; his was a hand made replica of a Kentucky Long Rifle and mine was a $100 starter rifle. We took our spots in a tree stand we built the Saturday before. The stand was perfect for two people; sitting back to back we could each see our respective ends of the fields as well as a decent distance into the woods on the opposite side of the…

It was just my uncle and I walking our way back too his normal hunting spot, where just a few days ago he got his first turkey of the year. It was a normal Friday in March except for the fact that I got my license. So my friends and I thought about what we were going to do now that I have my license. Well, we cruised around town thinking we were hot stuff and that we were better that most kids in school since I had my license before many of my friends. We decided that we'd go off-roading since I had the huge truck. It was a hunter green 1979 Ford F-250 Custom. It had huge 33-inch tires, a loud crackling exhaust, and a unique 2-inch thick oak plank flatbed. It really was a beast. So we roared around the backroads hitting bumps and flying into fields just causing a little mischief not doing too much harm. After a week of horsing around in the truck, we became quite bored. So we decided to do something else. We sat around pondering what to do, nothing really came to mind. So my friends and I decided to go to a girl in our class's birthday party at the local recreation center. So on the way to the party we contemplated what we'd do afterward. My friend Chris brought to our attention the he just bought a brand new paintball gun. So with that in mind, we decided that we'd cruise around after the party and shoot houses with it. So we went to the party. We danced, talked with friends, flirted around with the girls, and had an all-around good time. So at the party we discussed who and where we'd go shoot the paintballs. We unanimously chose to shoot a girl's house that we really disliked. Till this day, neither of us knows why we dislike her. But anyway, Shannon Everett was her name and her house was the target. So as the party came to a close, Chris, Sise, and I sprinted to the truck excited about the attack on Shannon's house. We speeded to Chris's house so he and Sise could change and to get the Trracer, the beautiful new gun. While waiting for them, I could only feel the adrenaline pump in my body. As Sise and Chris pounced down the stairs, Cathy, Chris's mom asked why we were all…

It was a cool autumn evening, late September and it was about 5:00 in the afternoon. When we pulled up, we could see the trail that we made in the leaves from the heavy pickup truck that recently crushed the sent out of them. I hopped out of the truck and smelt the fresh air the trees around me produced and thought I had it good. Next, after we grabbed all of our stuff we walked in the sweet swaying trees and eventually got to our hunting spot. Then, we sat down and waited for a sign of a deer walking through the forest. Then, all of a sudden, we heard a noise and turned around and there was a deer right there about 10 yards away so I took aim and CRACK! I shot and hit my target. Last, I started praying for the deer I just dispatched and thanked…

We have three grown boys now but when they were young, the youngest would ride on my hip while the other two would follow behind Mike pheasant hunting. We would all block our ears when we saw the gun go up as we knew a loud bang was about to come next. Then seeing our bird dog retrieve the pheasant that was shot down was as much of a trophy for us as it was for Mike who shot it down. We have a lot of memorable moments as we enjoyed hunting together as a family.Bring On the Pups…

I was tossing wood in the back of my dad's truck, reason being he wanted the extra wood we had from building our house to build a fire with. I accidentally missed the bed of the truck and hit the side of his truck with the slice of wood. I buffed it out quietly and sneakily trying to make the ping-pong ball size dent unnoticeable so that he would never notice the dent I had made on his nice truck while shaking, I never told him. Till the next night he walked into my room asking if I made a dent in the side of his truck. Nervously, I said yes and he told me…

Then, I decided on something. I was old enough, I was ready, I needed to know who my dad was, if he was alive, or worst case scenario if he was dead. I was leaving the pep rally now. I was almost out of the school when I realized I didn't have a car to drive myself home, and my mom was picking me up at 8:00. I looked at my watch and looked at the time. It was only 5:00. Ugh! Then, I grabbed my phone. I knew what to do. I grabbed my phone and dialed a number I knew by heart. It was the number of my cousin, Dean. We had a crush on each other when we I was 5 and he was 8. However, when our parents told us that cousins weren't allowed to ever marry or have crushes on each other that crushed both our dreams. We said that the rules could be broken, but then a few years later our parents had a talk with us that said if cousins ever tried to have kids something goes wrong… blah, blah, blah. Then we quickly decided to just be friends. He’s a junior in High School, and most importantly he has a car. We have always been super close and we were BCF. (Best cousin’s forever.) I called him. Here’s how the conversation…
