Me being curious I decided I wanted to have a better look at where i heard the gunshot come from, I decided to stand on the rail to have a better advantege point. While looking around on top of the rail i dropped my cigar, when i reached for it I leaned to far over the boat and fell into the water. I took off all of my clothes so I wouldn’t get weighed down and drown. I swam toward where I thought I heard the gunshot. I finally found an island when i got to the shore i had to climb up a big pile of sharp rocks. When i reached the top i decided to sleep for the night.

When I woke up in the morning I found a pool of animal blood and a few 22 shells. Since I

The next day when I woke up he gave me a hunting knife, boots, and food to last three days. I was confused and asked him what was going on. He told me he always wanted to hunt an expert like me and that I have a few hours to go get a head start on

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

I have a deep interest in the ocean and marine life, which was fostered when my family and I moved to the Pacific Coast. This interest grew further after I went on a backstage tour to the aquarium at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Due to this continuous exposure to the ocean and the creatures that live there, I am focusing my education around my interest in marine life. It's for this reason that I’m majoring in Marine Biology with a minor in Chemistry. With this education, my goal is to become an Aquarist, and build my way up to becoming an ocean or aquarium diver. As a diver, I want to have the opportunity to study coral reefs, and create and implement conservation plans. In addition, I want to study sea turtles and ways to conserve their declining…

Throughout my life, I have faced a number of crucibles but one, in particular, is more prominent than the rest. About five years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, a traumatic experience that affected my entire family. Each member of my immediate family chose to deal with the news in different ways, however, I am the only one that elected to live in denial. Sadly, the only way I knew how to cope with such devastating news was to continue living my life as if nothing was happening. Denial is simply unsustainable as you cannot escape the memories that the crucible has formed. Nevertheless, years after my mom was originally diagnosed I began to appreciate the experience for what it was rather than shy away from it; developing hardiness.…

About the only good thing that came out of me going to jail was meeting this guy named Lev. He was a skinny guy that did not look like he committed a vicious crime. He didn’t he was in jail for looting a dead German on Voinova Street. He was really rude when I tried to make company, but I could understand why because at times like these you can’t trust anyone. I asked him if he was a Jew and he did not appreciate that, because he thought I looked like a Nazi, but after he found I wasn’t he was ok with the question. I gave him some sausage because I figured he would be hungry. We both were wondering why they didn’t shoot us because that was the punishment for both of our measly little crimes. After around a quarter of an hour I reached my destination, which was a hole in a chimney located in the high walls near Manoel Island` s fort. I fetched the torched from within my back pack and then crawled into the dark hole. After around 2 hours exploring the shelter I came to a spot which was outside of the shelter with steep, high walls on each side. I thought to take advantage of the situation and have lunch. I found a flat platform within the confined area, put on my walkman` s headphones on my ears, and while I listened to its music I prepared and ate lunch. It was to go on with the exploring, therefore I began to put everything back in the back pack. While I was doing so I mistakenly hit my torchlight and it fell in a tight, deep gap between the platform and the wall. I tried to reach it, but it was so tight that I could not reach it. At that moment I panicked because without the torchlight my chances to find my way back in the darkness of the shelter are near zero. Additionally, I could not wait for any help as no one knew of my whereabouts.…
