To begin with, Stonecreek did not have nearly as much responsibilities as high school does. At Stonecreek there wasn’t nearly as much homework and projects that you had to complete. There was so much less that you had to do. Another thing is that at junior high, if u were failing, the teachers would make you come and get help. But at high school, if you are not doing well in a class, you have to be the one to find help and tutors.…
It went somewhat downhill after that because during my first year of middle school my grades were at a c average. That angered my parents and they decided that paige middle school was not good for me so they decided to transfer me to john glenn middle school. That change of schools really did hit me like a truck. The level of education and standards were so much higher than my other middle school. They had no time for screwing up, so i got myself together and decided to give it my all. I did good i got a’s and b’s. I pushed myself and got to a better…
It’s a bler, trying to look back on when I was a preschooler, so first grade was a mess. First grade is a life changer. Going to Tri-Point in Piper City not even for a full year. Tri-Point is a small old school just like ROWVA. I remember changing schools because my parents got a divorce. We moved to Peoria and lived there with my mom's parents. I got transferred to a Catholic school. Every Wednesday the whole place went to church right across the street. It was the worst thing ever sitting in the old creepy church listening the Father talk about only “God” knows what. My teacher's name was Mrs. Heartstick, no I did not make the name up. She grossed me out. He hands very dry and cracked, they looked like an old man's hands who had worked his whole…
Are you going into middle school? Are you intimidated by the older kids and larger homework loads? Well don’t worry because I’ve already been through it and as long as you follow the tips in this guide you’ll be just fine. Middle school is difficult but it's also exciting. When you’re in middle school your worldviews change, everything you thought you knew about school is questioned. Everything and everyone seems different no matter how familiar they are. All these drastic changes can be overwhelming for new students but, the most important thing to remember is that is isn’t as scary as you think it is. If you form good study skills, learn how to be social, and follow my personal advice I promise that you will make it through middle school.…
According to a study conducted by EducationNext, “moving to middle school leads to a substantial drop in student test scores in the first year of the transition, and the relative achievement of middle-school students continues to decline in the subsequent years they spend in such schools.” One aspect of the educational system that I think can be vastly improved is middle school. Although middle schoolers are faced with numerous challenges, the middle school curriculum does not allow students to explore their interests and more importantly, doesn't challenge students enough. In middle school, there is not a lot of advanced coursework that students can complete. This is why I believe that middle school students should have the opportunity to take a more strenuous curriculum by allowing them to take high school classes, as this system will give students the curriculum that they need to succeed and it will give them an abundance of time to explore their interests.…
Good things happen to those who hustle according to Chuck Noll, but for me hustling has been just another second of failure. It was during the fall of sixth grade when I decided to try out for the school football team.…
I was the kind of guy who always strove in order to get the highest grades but yet hadn’t decided what to do in the future. I wasn’t worried, I knew someday I would find something in what I was good at. I got to live with that thought for some time until I got to attend middle school, where I stopped worrying about my grades and managed only to pass the subjects. I spent most of my time sleeping due to the frustration of not knowing what to do in the future. Most of my middle school experience was tasteless. I hadn’t friends at all, and teachers used to discourage their students about their future. “You're not going to college, you’ll not be able to do it because you’re poor” used to say, Mrs. Vazquez, the math teacher who instead of giving her class, talked on how much his son had accomplished in college and how we would not be able to attend. That was about to change.…
Middle school was both exciting and frightening. It was exciting because I was able to switch classes and it made me feel older, however it was frightening because I had to impress more than one teacher and adjust to their teaching methods. The first day of middle school was different because that year my father could not see me off to school. My father died unexpectedly a few weeks before my first day of middle school which only added to the stress. Overall my first day was still pretty exciting because I knew I was going to meet new people. I was excited to see some of my old friends in the same class with me. I thought the work was going to harder since I was older, but it was not much different from elementary.…
Middle school was really weird time for me. It seemed like it was the most dramatic / drama filled. Our school at St. Peters was messed up, anything that could happen did. I've had teacher come up to me and ask for answers to what happened. Students doing bad things and etc. Also middle school to me was so fun, because people who I like got in trouble because of me. If you weren't my friend at St. Peters you better hope that you weren't mean to me, because if you were the teachers would find out what you did and they get in trouble.…
Before beginning high school, you are required to pick levels that you feel comfortable with that correspond with the school-picked courses. You also have to choose three elective classes. Any of these classes could include Art, Chorus, Intro to Family and Consumer Science, Accounting, Graphic Presentations, and many more. All of your chosen classes receive a letter grade, just like middle school, but the required classes are picked according to your academic capability. For example, if you are the type of student that does not do well scholarly, you would choose a level three class. This option is a great way to do better in school. Also in high school, there are more extracurricular options. High school offers a numerous amount of clubs and sports. From soccer and swimming to ping pong club and French club. If any of the extracurricular activities don’t interest you, you even have the opportunity to create your own club with the help of a teacher. In middle school, your classes are already selected and you cannot change them. These classes are mandatory, just like high school, but everyone learns at the same level. This can be a disadvantage for students who take longer to process than others. Also, in middle school, you cannot create your own clubs. The sports and clubs the school provides are your only selections.…
When students move from elementary to middle school, they face numerous social challenges. For example, middle schools are often much larger, and students may find themselves separated from their elementary school friends. They have to make new friends in a strange, unfamiliar setting. Also, instead of having one teacher, students have five to seven different teachers a day. That is a lot of new people to get used to.…
When I got to middle school, things were a lot different. Everybody was separated into different cliques and there was a lot of peer pressure. It was more difficult to learn in class; if you paid attention too much, then your friends would make fun of you. Eventually, I started to goof off in class just to fit in. My grades went from straight A's to a C average. My mom started to worry about me; she said I wasn't reaching my potential and was disappointed how I wasn't dedicated in school anymore.…
Some would say high school are some of the hardest years of your life. It’s when things start looking at colleges, figure out what you want to do with your life. You don’t get to choose if you can skip a class or not, classes are mandatory. In high school, you start to get a taste of real responsibility. Middle school and elementary was too easy, but in high school you have more…
6th grade came to an end and 7th grade came around next. 7th grade was the beginning of junior high school. Junior high school means a new school. And with my luck, none of my friends were at this new beginning of my life. Because my anxiety has grown since the beginning of 5th grade, I wasn’t excited on going to a new school to make new beginnings.…
High school is a place totally different from Middle school. High school is a place where it would be the best or worst four years of your life, and maybe change who you are. I remember in middle school I would be very outgoing and not care what people thought, but for some reason I do care now.…
