Personal Narrative Essay: Why Do People Commit Suicide?
With lies you may go ahead in the world, but you can never go back. You can never take back what you say to a person but you can move forward in life. Many people to this day lie. They always expect to be able to say sorry after they lie and don't think it affects the other person. When you lie to a person, even after you say sorry, it will always affect them. Even if you are a good person and you lie you can say sorry but people will always remember you from what you did.
Hannah Baker committed suicide. “I hope you're ready because i'm about to tell the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended. And if you're listening to these tapes, you’re one of the reasons why.”( Jay Asher 7) Hannah decided to committed suicide and recorded tapes before doing so. She wanted to tell the thirteen people why she killed herself and how they were apart of it. Clay can't let his mom to find out about the tapes. “ Mom you scared me. Its nothing. these tapes. It is a secret between those thirteen people. Clay hardly knew Hannah. “ These tapes shouldn't be here. Not with me. It has to be a mistake.”(Jay Asher 10) He didn't know how he got in the tapes. Him and Hannah have only talked a couple of times when they worked together.
Hillary Clinton acted like the attack was a big surprise.”We are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son.”(Jonathan W. Emord 1) Clinton supported the families after the attack and assured them that she would find the killers. The CIA agents were only a couple miles away. CIA agents were told to “stand down.” (Jonathan W. Emord 2) They said they received many calls for help. Eventually they went over to help but it was too late. The U.S. Military assumed that there was going to be a attack. “We did know early on that this was a hostile action.”(Jonathan W. Emord 2) The attack went crazy and many died. The affected families were devastated to hear the news about their loved ones.
Bernard Madoff was good at getting people to invest.
“I can’t” ” It's a closed fund.” (Lionel S.Lewis 288) in the begining of the conversation Madoff told him he couldn't invest. After some time he got back to his friend and said he would open it just for him. Madoff was ready to prove his investing to his clients. “ We have some who are concerned” “ The principle concern i have is that the assets are there.” (Lionel S. Lewis 289) Madoff invited the client to his office to look at his books. He also set up an online fake account to show him the shares were in his account. Madoff needed people who would help him with the con and not betray him. “As we allege again today, others criminally assisted Madoff's epic crime. A house of cards is almost never built by one lone architect.” (Lionel S.Lewis 291) Madoff's brother, Peter, knew that he was helping his brother break the law. He also had Frank DiPascali help him fraud the
clients.
Ryan Lochte wants to readvise his actions and words. “I made that up. I did something really stupid, and i'm really sorry. I wish I could change it” (Westfall 59). Lochte admits to lying about what happened. Now that he lied he is more in trouble then he would have been if he would have told the truth. Lochte is sorry for his actions in Rio. “ I should have been 100% honest. I'll keep apologizing for as long as it takes for the people of Brazil and the U.S. and the world to forgive me”(Westfall 59) He is very sorry for his actions and wants to prove to the world he truly is a good person. He dug himself into a hole and is trying to find his way out. Lochte wants to giveback for his actions. “I do like to party, but i'm going to calm that stuff down. I want to start focusing on the things i love, like teaching kids how to swim and helping kids”(Westfall 60) Lochte wants to start being more responsible and stop partying so much and help others. He wants to help others instead of doing what he knows is wrong.
