believe that we don't, I know that we do.
I can't articulate my words very well in one to one conversation, and this spurred me feeling the need to write this letter. I was talking with some of the other Joes about this morning’s PT and for the most part people liked it. Something one of my high school coaches told me that really stuck with me throughout my life was about performance. He said, he didn't care if I was the best player or the worst player, but only that I was consistent with what I brought to the table. I think as a unit we need to come together and decide what we want to consistently bring to the table. I'm not saying that we can't have fun days because I think that it brings us together and gives us the occasional much needed morale boost. But I am saying that if we all set the mindset that we are going to put forth everything we have consistently we can see something really special. The bonding of our comrades through blood, sweat, and the birth of cohesion that other units would be jealous of. We can't always control what happens throughout the day and I would even venture to say PT is the really the only thing that we can control. So why not put forth our best foot and venture to always have a good
solid PT session. I liked how we were together for parts of the PT but also able to push ourselves at points. All in all, it was a great day of PT and I know it can be challenging sometimes to stay motivated when the vast majority of the Joes aren't always motivated. When morale already isn't the best depending on who you talk to I can understand it’s a fine line of trying not to push the limits to far to make things unwelcoming. But today was a perfect example that we can have good PT and not have it be too crazy so to speak. For the most part everyone really liked today and I don't believe for a second it was only because of the LTC being with us. Although it was a honor to do PT with him today and I’m sure it did lift spirits a little bit. For the most part sir, all I’m saying is that the Joes will always follow what both you and the Platoon Sergeant have planned for us. And the newer guys are hungry for more days like this. If any part of this letter came off as unprofessional or otherwise inappropriate I want to stress with the uttermost honesty that was not my intention.
With the Uttermost Respect
