There are multiple changes when you are make the decision to go from being a tenant to homeowner. For the most part, people typically start renting then move on to buying a home of their own, so today we’re going to look at this big step in life and try to go over a few of the changes that you will have to get used to as you’re making the transition!
1. High upfront cost – Buying a home can be really expensive. There are often multiple additional costs aside from the original price that can come out of nowhere. Even if they aren’t significant costs, eventually they’ll start to build up.
2. Long term – In case you weren’t aware, buying a home is a huge commitment and often times only happens once in a lifetime, but hopefully you realized this prior to becoming a homeowner!

Pest control – Unless you’ve had a bug problem before, this is typically one of the most unnoticed services that comes with renting.
8. Landscaping – Making your home look good on the outside often takes a lot of work and time, especially when you have to take care of your lawn.
9. Homeowners insurance – Similar to renter’s insurance, which most people have had before or have at know about, homeowner’s insurance generally covers the cost to replace your home, in the event of a total loss, and additional for items in the home.
10. Furnishing – For those of you that have gotten used to furnished apartments, this will be a huge change for you. Owning your own home means having furniture to put in it, which is just another necessity to add on top of all of the others.
