Personal Narrative: Moving To A Private High School
Millions of people decide what to do every day; however, most are passive when they make choices. I tend not to be a passive person; rather, I think about what I do. If I find myself in an unbearable situation, I stand up and seek a change. This is what happened in ninth grade, my first year of high school and first year at a private school. My parents enrolled me in a private school, and I was passive until I was bullied.

My parents didn't like the education I was receiving in the public school because the classes were not academically rigorous. Consequently, my mom chose to move me to a private high school. She thought that it would be better because of the smaller class size, the smaller student body, and the availability of AP classes. Thinking it could help me become smarter

Everything was different. The student body was very insular; therefore, I had a difficult time making friends. I knew that the private school was not right for me, but I didn’t know how to tell my parents; they had invested a significant amount of money. I knew that I needed to tell them, but I thought I could handle it because I believed it was just a “new school” issue. Since I did not want to hurt their feelings, I was hesitant.

I was bullied for having a speech impediment. I became very depressed because I was never bullied for this before. I knew that I had that disability, but I thought that no one would think anything of it. It was the worst year in my life. I knew that I couldn’t handle this pressure for four years. I was faced with the decision of whether to change schools again, or stay in hell until I graduated.

One day, I found a post online from a high school student who was having the same problem. He said that not telling his parents about the bullying was the worst decision he had ever made and that he ran away from home to escape it. I knew that I did not want to be in that
