be friends with people of different races, religion and politics burst the bubble of ignorance that had been so prominent my entire childhood. I came to learn that people are people and we all want the same things in life, such as happiness, friends, family, health and a safe place to live. By meeting people from such a varied background opened my eyes to the suffering of others. I had a friend from Pakistan who told me stories of how his family had no clean water, no clean clothes and no safe place they could live. It was amazing to hear how they had escaped their country which was filled with violence and poverty. My compassion grew 10 fold. Because of my positive experiences with people of a variety of backgrounds I became accepting to all people. Because no matter what race or religion you are you should never be treated in any bad way because of that, there’s already so much struggle in this world. Why add to it with hate?
