Personal Narrative: My Experience Of High School
My life has been a series of obstacles. I see that as we get older we become wiser, but life never gets any easier. When we reach the end of an experience we take to heart the memories throughout the whole experience. People say "high school goes by quick" and " it's just a small part of your life." The experience of high school really shapes the way we deal with hardships and failure.

All the seniors are excited when graduation rolls around, just the feeling of not having to go through this again. We meet just before the ceremony enjoying one of our last moments together as friends. In two to three hours we would graduate alongside our fellow classmates, our friends and family, and reminisce about the good, and the bad. When we walk that stage we will feel a sense of accomplishment, and be handed out diploma and maybe even shed a tear. Just like that we say goodbye

Although I am still undecided of where I want to go, it is also something I don't really know how to do. Those are my problems for college application, but with a little help from my siblings who went through the process, I'm sure I'll get through it. I'm plenty sure it will be a hassle, and considering some colleges will make you write an essay, it will be plenty of work for me to do.

College will be something I sure am nervous about with what I want to study. I have had some teachers tell me I am beyond my years because most people my age are not thinking about philosophy. Studying philosophy is something people say is a waste of time or not profitable without even thinking of what the word philosophy means. Philosophy means love of knowledge or wisdom, meaning it is not meant to be profitable nor is it a waste of time, we just want to learn more, be it about ancient western philosophy or the way of the Tao Te Ching which was written by Laozi. Other than my studies it should be very intriguing how college will fold

I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. Someone was running behind me, and wasn’t watching where they were going either. As I approached the building I heard yelling, but thought nothing of it. After all, recess had just finished, so obviously kids would be yelling, right? It turns out some kids had been playing tag, and decided to play until they got inside. One that was still running away, because God forbid he’d be “it,” was Nick.…

During my current four years of high school, I have come to a conclusion that life is hard and the decisions you make are very important. This is my last year of high school and I’m the first one to graduate from my family. My grandmother tends to tell me that I don’t need college just a simple 7 month course of medical assistant or dentist assistant and not waste any more money. I’m lost, I wish people could help me out and tried to guide me in the direction of the right decision but is my life and choices. There has been times that my grandmother has told me that I am not going to be somebody in the future.…

I was the kind of guy who always strove in order to get the highest grades but yet hadn’t decided what to do in the future. I wasn’t worried, I knew someday I would find something in what I was good at. I got to live with that thought for some time until I got to attend middle school, where I stopped worrying about my grades and managed only to pass the subjects. I spent most of my time sleeping due to the frustration of not knowing what to do in the future. Most of my middle school experience was tasteless. I hadn’t friends at all, and teachers used to discourage their students about their future. “You're not going to college, you’ll not be able to do it because you’re poor” used to say, Mrs. Vazquez, the math teacher who instead of giving her class, talked on how much his son had accomplished in college and how we would not be able to attend. That was about to change.…

I always strived to do the best that I can, in everything that I do, and this especially applies to academics. In 6th grade, I joined the honors program at my middle school; from then on forward, I made sure than my work was of high enough quality so that the following year I would be placed in honors courses. These courses are what I believe prepared me for my success in high school. I got a taste of what it was like to be in an environment where every pupil was hungry for an education and for knowledge, and I grew to want to learn as much as my classmates. I entered high school with courses that upperclassmen had that challenged me more than anything else had before. It was during my freshman year of high school that I realized that I couldn’t…

College is one of the periods of life where there is most growth, both personally and academically. Going to college is a very challenging yet rewarding experience. It brings people out of their comfort zones personally, whereas academically, people get to focus more on what they are good at. In my case, it will be a challenge to adapt to the college environment at the same time that it will be very comfortable to finally study subjects that truly interest me. This exciting challenge is the main reason I want to go to college. Most people want to go to college to get a degree and earn a lot of money, which leads them to more expensive and selective colleges. I, on the other hand, intend to focus more on the course and the subjects I will study.…

College is a major step in the lives of anyone who chooses to attend, and there are undoubtedly many challenges and difficulties that will ensue. One thing that I anticipate will challenge me in college is the newfound abundance of free time. The high school that I attend, The Hill School, is a very academically rigorous and time-consuming place. At the Hill, there is very little, if any unstructured time throughout any given day. One of the school’s missions is to better prepare students for life after high school, and more specifically, teach students how to properly utilize any available time they may stumble upon. Regulating the time of students is both a curse and a blessing; in that order. Not having time to simply relax and do what you…

The most challenging thing I've ever done in my life thus far was taking Spanish in my first two years of high school. Throughout my whole scholastic career, I never really had to try. I came to class, did the work, and then aced the tests. This history of nonexistent challenge was interrupted by my enrollment into foreign language. For some reason the ideas taught within the class never really resonated with me and for the first time ever I was no longer an “A student.” This took a huge hit to my pride but it made me want to apply myself like I've never done before.…
