Describe how you have established respectful, professional relationships with children and young people in your setting.…
Working with children requires you to build relationships with them, but also in ways that are professional. The quality of the relationship that you have with children, young people and adults has a huge effect on the way in which you can then work with them and encourage learning and behaviour. Positive relations with children and young people are important because when children and young people feel more comfortable in the relationships they have with you they can then separate themselves more from anxieties or trust that you will support them with these in order for them to learn more effectively and met their targets. They will also feel more confident in participating in school, learning activities and learn to become more independent physically and emotionally.…
It is important if you are working alongside children, that you have a good relationship with them. If you do - this will allow them to learn faster in a healthy professional environment because you have an understanding between you. Respect is another key element. Without it, teaching can be impossible because everything goes in swings and round-a-bouts; you’re causing stress not only for yourself but for the children as well.…
Professionalism- I truly enjoy working with young children in a group setting, and demonstrate a positive attitude in my role. I always come to work with a smile on my face and a bounce in my step. I talk to children, and play with them every day. Children are the light of my life, and it sure shines brightly when they are around.…
Being a leader in 4-H, I have taken on many roles to make the 4-H experience a memorable and very enjoyable. One of my more recent projects was creating a six week Cloverbud Science Club. After school, the cloverbuds in the Perham School District would come to the Science Club and learn various science topics including space, water, and chemistry. I prepared the lesson, taught, and cleaned up. Besides teaching, I became a quick problem solver when it came to a conflict. I learned how long the youth could focus on a project and how to explain the results from their experiments. This science program was the first taste of 4-H many of these students had, but it made their 4-H experience a fun and memorable journey. By implementing these programs,…
Hang and I worked together at a nail salon for over a year. After knowing Hang professionally and personally to honestly state that she is a humble being, gracious, wholehearted, very attentive also a diligently working person I had encountered. We bonded instantly and became good friends, she has always gone above and beyond when it comes to family and friends, constantly providing care for others especially when involved in volunteering work of a good cause. I've met Hang's husband Hai he's compassionate and witty, it's a joy to be around these two people, I also met Destiny and exchanged a few conversations with her. Taken into personal experiences along her family, they shared a lot of love, nurture, and value of one another overall hard…
As the single child in a family with working parents, I spent the most time of my childhood living and hanging around with my dog. This experience might be one of the reasons that I am very compassionate to animals and sensitive to people’s needs. My voluntary work is in a welfare house called Alenah's home. I love working there because I like seeing the smile face of the children there – even some autism babies don’t smile facially, I believe they can feel the love when being caressed softly.…
I have the experience of volunteering for two times. Both schools that I went to are very poor school as most of students come from neighbor countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia, whom their parents immigrate illegally to Thailand for working opportunity. Also the school director tries to help this children by give them opportunity to study without tuitions fee, which is make financial support from the government is not enough. Therefore, my friends and I went to give the necessary stuffs such as sport facilities and some amount of money that my friends and I did the donation from kind-hearted people. We also educated them in various topics such as teach them English daily use sentences and basic economics in term of how to saving. The reason that I choose to teach them how to saving is I found that their family financial status is not good, so it is necessary for them to use money correctly and make sure that they will not overspending.…
Whether it was holding the door open for the person behind me or simply telling them to have a nice day, my favorite thing to do has always been to make people smile. In elementary school, more often than not, I assumed the role of class helper. This entailed staying after class parties to help clean up messes or spending extra time at recess to make sure all of the kickballs were in their specific spots. As I've grown up, it only makes sense that my love for helping people in any shape or form has translated into a love for volunteering. Whether it is tutoring elementary school children or helping run a clothing drive, the numerous altruistic tendencies that have been instilled in me through volunteer work will forever shape who I am as a…

I have always dreamed to have my own childcare business. So when I was pregnant with my third child I decided to venture out and started my own childcare. Me and my husband just bought a new home and with a basement to start my Family Childcare. I was excited that I had a new home, my first son was about to be born, and I was opening my dream childcare. I was eager to open when my son and three months later I opened it. I had my grandfather to build my furniture and I was ready. I open with one child and felt I was moving up in the world. Within the next 6 months I had 4 children which there was more money and had a great relationship with my parents. Before I knew it I had my limit of 6 children in my childcare and was running well for 7 years.…
Carefully, with a shaky hand, I successfully inserted an insulin pump into my left thigh. I counted every carbohydrate I ate and timidly calculated my carbohydrate/insulin ratio. The liquid I was distributing throughout my body was not in fact insulin, but saline. Volunteering as a diet aide at Camp Carefree, a children’s summer camp for type one diabetics, gave me the opportunity to know what it felt like to step into these innocent children’s shoes.…
I cannot wait for the opportunity at the Salvation Army. I have always heard about the wonderful things that the Salvation does for individuals and families, but I have never gotten the chance to experience it for myself. I have learned recently that there is a vulnerable population that comes to the Salvation Army for assistance, the homeless and people in poverty. To care for a vulnerable population in their own environment I think will make me really sad and grateful at the same time. It will make me very sad because I usually get sad over the less fortunate and want to help them whichever way I can. At the same time, it will make me feel grateful, and make me reflect back every so often on the greatness in my life. I think our society does not realize how much goodness we really have compared to third world countries. There are millions of people suffering out there and including myself, we do not always hear about them. This experience is giving me the opportunity to care for a vulnerable population in deep desirable need.…
My placement is working with year 4 children who I engage with well and I get the general impression from their responses to my interaction with them that they enjoy working with me and that I assist their development.…
It was a peaceful Saturday night when I was eleven and, of course, I desired chocolate milk. I drink soy milk since I am severely allergic to milk and eggs. In our refrigerator, the soy milk is always on the right side and the regular milk is on the left. However, on that night, someone put the regular milk on the wrong side of the refrigerator. I did not recognize that I poured the regular milk into my cup. I was so excited to drink the chocolate milk so I chugged most of the glass. This was a huge mistake. Immediately, my throat began to itch; I felt like I had an eraser in my throat. I started to panic when I realized what was happening, and I told my dad who rushed me into the bathroom. I began throwing up violently, and my heart was beating like I had just run a marathon. My mom…
