The District tournament was Saturday February 25th and friday the 24th was in the running for one of the hardest days of my entire life. I woke up on the morning of the 24th, I walked into my bathroom and pulled out a scale to check my weight. I was freezing wearing only pajama
bottoms when I checked my weight. I stepped on and the scale read 138.1. I couldn't believe it, it just left me in shock. So making sure i didn't read it wrong i took the pajama bottoms off and stepped back on and the scale then read 138.0. Right then and there in that bathroom is where I wanted to just give up and quit. But i knew that i didn't come and work this hard just to give up at this point. My mom walked over to the bathroom where I was and she asked, “how is your weight today?” Still half asleep I said under my breath, “you don’t want to know.”
I got out of the car at school and started walking into the building and got a text from coach Nasdeo in a group chat that two others were in with myself that had to watch our weight. The text read, “ please come see me to get my keys, you all need to check your weight before first period I will write you a pass.” All three of us met down in the locker room where the scale was.
