I am a person that is weird and creates her own world I can say so passionate that what makes me unique. I grew up in a country that wasn’t noticed that much and was much going on there but even so I tried my best focusing on my studies that I can be here at the moment getting ready for college . As I grow up, I used to enjoy writing and creating things than doing anything else. Since I was little, I enjoy playing with Legos and collect puzzles and figuring it out, until now, I still collect puzzles and try putting them together. So when the time came by and I had to move here I felt sad I was anxious what I am going to do in a strange country. So when I arrived here I felt excited and anxious I did not know what to do. Compared from where…
Before school had start most of my old teacher from high school used to tell me that Montclair State University was a really great school at everything. They had graduated from Montclair State University. They all told me great things about this school that I didn’t believed them until I see it with my own eyes. When I had started school, I was amazed with this school I felt like I was home. Most of the things that I like this school have it.…
For many High School graduates, applying to college is a daunting adventure where new opportunities, relationships, and knowledge are ready to be explored. As a new freshman, I was not ready to succumb to the possibility of becoming a poltroon in this new and exciting world. I was ready to thrust myself into college with the adherence and prowess that most students lacked when they finished high school.…
I started my middle school years confused of what I wanted to be.Lucky through exploratories and other career based classes. When I was in Catherine Hall I was in student home Greenfields with the Johnsons. Activities I did that helped me get ready for highschool was football and soccer and it taught me to have strong characteristics and I knew that those features were needed growing up in most jobs. I had relationships with music teachers that helped me get on the road to my high school career pathways.…
I came to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in the fall. I suffered from depression my junior and senior year of high school. I was never officially diagnosed, because I lied to every therapist my mother sent me to. I could not be honest with anyone but myself at the time. However, I thought things would be different when I came to college. I thought I would be able to open up to people again, but I never anticipated that I would get worse. I thought college would cure me, for some reason. Ironically, I got even worse my first semester in college. My previous burdens added on to the pressure of getting good grades, being involved on campus, and trying to make friends. It was all too much for me. It also didn't help…
I ended up going to Richland Community College due to my lack of education and the consequences of slacking during high school. I’ve never been the brightest child nor did I take education really seriously while I was in high school. Playing video games on constant basis did not help with my GPA at all. From the video games to the testing anxiety, it made me just want to skip through high school and go to college. But neglecting school work has finally come to a toll as I took the ACT and the SAT with terrible scores due to my testing anxiety. I’ve come to Richland Community College for assistance and for a better start on my education. Hopefully…
I learned that when you really want something sometimes you have to put yourself out there and take a risk. I realized this when it came time for me to go to college. I wanted to go to Texas A&M University and had already been accepted and that’s when I realized I was about to begin a whole new opportunity in my life.…
Throughout every college experience there are two sides to every story. The text made me realize, through vivid examples that I remember learning when I was younger, such as the gods and the giants, something that I have been told since I was young. That I have to always think twice before I think say or do anything.…
Although college is challenging., I am going to succeed by using advice from experts, developing strategies, and taking advantages of the benefits my college offers me.…
It was the morning of move in day. I said goodbye to my home and headed out. I passed the local shopping market and my high school where I enjoyed a fun four years. As I headed to Norman I realized I was leaving everything I had ever known. All my life has consisted of living in the same house, going to school with the same kids, and going to the same supermarkets and restaurants. While I’d like to say I have developed a good idea of the world around me by visiting so many cities around the United States, in reality the only world I’ve ever known is the same one I have spent my whole life in. I have loved growing up in Northwest Oklahoma City with the friends that have helped shaped me into who I am today, however I relished the opportunity…
My first semester here at Oxnard College, I took four classes for a total of 16 units. It was a difficult semester and a different experience from a high school semester. I completed my first semester and enrolled in twelve units for the spring semester. When registration time comes I seek the help from my EOPS/CARE counselors to guide me through my college journey and led me to my university journey. My counselors Ms. Gloria and Mr. Ross not just give me an educational plan, but they tell about their university journey and how everything is possible even if you don’t have the money to pay for your tuition. that Keeping up with school and my three year old daughter is really stressful, when feeling like I need extra help on homework or quizzes I seek help from my older brother, a tutor, or I go to the library.…
4 years. 1,460 days. 35,040 hours. 2,102,400 minutes. That is how long it takes to get a college degree. College is has always been something that seemed like a reachable goal for me. I knew that my family could afford to put me through college, I knew I was in schools that would prepare me for college, and I knew that I was capable to get into a college, For me going to college was never an unattainable goal. My Attitude towards college was shaped primarily by two forces, my own personal experiences and knowledge of college, and my parents influence on me about college.…
Coming back from a year of being aboard has made me reminiscent of the joys of discovery and the thrilling feeling of adventure. One of the reasons I find myself applying to Dickinson is because I am eager for a change of scenery and the chance to explore a new place as I enter a new chapter in my life. I truly feel like I will be able to fully immerse myself in the community and acclimate the new environment.…
At the end of the day, you are solely responsible for your success and your failure. And the sooner you realize that, you accept that, and integrate that into your work ethic, you will start being successful. As long as you blame others for the reason you aren't where you want to be, you will always be a failure. -Erin Cummings…
