We took our Toyota Hilux and invited my uncle to go and visit them with us. As we were making our way through Santa Ana, the city where we live, I saw a family of 5 members digging through trash looking for food to eat. This really impacted me in a way that can’t be explained, and the image will always go with me throughout my whole life. I imagined us having a good time in our beach house, and our private housing, then I imagined them fighting for their lives each day. In El Salvador most people don’t have the opportunity to go to school, and once you reach a certain age you can work, your little butt goes to work for your family. I’m lucky enough that we have businesses over there, and live a pretty good life, but those people, THAT family, don’t have anything. Everyday is a fight against the violence and the poverty they face. This really opened my eyes how the real world is. The real world isn’t just going to school, using computers, checking your phone. NO! There are people out there with children digging through trash looking for food to eat. I really hope people open their eyes, and see the reality, and help them. As we were pulling into our grandparents house I saw their house, their maids, and their cars. There are two sides to this world, if you are not rich then you are poor compared to the big CEO’s out there. Please open your
