As a writer, I have strengths and weaknesses. In the first paper I wrote, there were some parts that were stronger than others. Learning from my mistakes, I hope to procreate each paper I write better than the last. When adding the finishing details in my papers, I plan to use www.paperrater.com as a resource to help ensure my writing is at its best. While constructing papers, I hope to use my resources to help better my writing. In my writing, the first mistake I made was switching the order of the MLA format. An honest mistake can have an effect on a grade. In The Little, Brown Compact Handbook, there is a section on MLA format I plan to use to insure I discharge this mistake again. The next mistake was not citing a quote I borrowed from …show more content…
I also could have used a different word choice at this time. In this paragraph, I did have excellent sentence combinations and powerful and emotional details, as the reader may have felt they were living in the moment. In my future papers, I hope to better myself in the correct usage of commas and grammatical errors to manufacture myself to sound more educated. In the next paragraph of my essay, I need to be careful with wording, such as ‘thing(s)’. Also, I had some issue with listing people, putting myself first instead of last. At the end of the paragraph, I did have some strong moments …show more content…
For future papers, I plan to use peer editing and the use of paperrater.com. Throughout my writing, I had a significant amount of issues with the usage of commas and not having them in the correct place. To further better papers, I plan to use The Little, Brown Compact Handbook for assistance with commas. I find the use of the book helpful for any paper. The handbook has an abounding amount of great tips to help with various types of writing. Another resource I plan to use is Writing: A guide for College and Beyond by Lester Faigley. In this book, there are various chapters that hopefully will help with upcoming papers, such as the observation paper and the position paper. I hope to use these resources to the best of my abilities and better my grades on future

We are all humans; therefore, we all make mistakes, but one thing that comes out of our mistakes is a lesson well learned. As I look back to all the things I've done, I regret the time I felt ashamed of myself. Easter of 2004 my godmother decided to invite us to her house for an egg hunt. I was told by my mom that the eggs had candy and nothing else. As we were heading out, I decided to bring my little purse, and we got inside the car full of joy. We were on our way to my Godmother's house for the egg hunt.…

I changed several things in my paper starting with my attention grabber. I changed the whole sentence into something more attractive to my readers. I thought my attention grabber was to boring. I changed the extra space I had in my paper which I didn’t know how to until now. I changed a few words that I mistakenly added instead of the right word. I also changed the sentences from my second paragraph. I excluded using first person “us” since it is informal to use when writing college essays. I deleted the last sentences from my second paragraph which didn’t make sense and added something that did make sense with my paragraph. I had a run on sentence which I made them into two separate sentences. In my third paragraph I explained my first sentence which was a good idea I wrote. I would like feedback on the mistakes I corrected and anything else would be great to know.…

My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated. After I am all situated I begin by writing down different ideas on a couple sheets of paper, listing ways I could support this idea and how it relates to my topic, sometimes when I am stuck I look up sample essays online to help me out of my rut. Once I finally choose an idea I start writing the first things that pop into my head down on another sheet of paper, it usually ends up being a jumbled mess that only I can understand. In all seriousness, my writing is garbage, but it some what improved the slightest bit because I had a professor who actually knows how to teach a English class and not give little hints on telling us if our paper was trash. Instead, we were told straight if it was a good paper or not and it has probably helped me improve the most. In High School, I was always told that my papers were “good,” thankfully I finally had a Professor who can give it to me straight and tell us how we can improve our writing. On all the RRs, RWL, and formal essays that I have written these past twelve weeks, I have gotten educational criticism that has helped my pathetic writing become less pathetic and somewhat college worthy writing.…

I have always had struggles and difficulties when it comes to writing. This is due to the fact that English is not my first language, and that I am still learning. I started to learn how to speak, and listen, and mainly write in English when I was in ninth grade. Writing has been the hardest to deal with it, because I have many spelling and mechanical errors and most importantly, how to organize an essay, but this changed when I took English 49 with Professor Lucero. In my first day of class, I was assigned to write an essay about my experience with writing. I was not completely sure on how to start my essay and how to organize it. When I was in High School, I did not write many essays, and the few I did, I have endless help. So, I just my…

Thinking of creative ways on how to develop my paper is a strong suit I benefit while taking on a writing assignment. When given a topic to write about, I write down what comes into my head. I do not worry about the word count if the sentences make sense on paper or even punctuation. I write to avoid forget any important points I might have thought of. This method of writing is where my weaknesses show. Sometimes what I wrote makes sense in my head, but not on paper. Other challenges I face with writing assignments are time management and punctuation.…

Failure is one word that no one wants to hear. It is something we all fear and hope to never experience, yet is a part of all our lives. We fail math tests, English essays, job interviews, progress reports; we all fail something. These are all easily measurable, tangible failures with calculable consequences. However, failure is defined as “a lack of success”. This “lack of success” extends much farther than just tangible actions. The biggest failure is when we fail ourselves.…
