and how it took him awhile to learn English. After talking to him, the whole conversation was repeating in my head. Translating from French to English repeatedly . Then I ordered our food along with pastries, and went to the table my sister and mom were sitting at. I translated the conversation with the old man to my mom in Spanish. For the rest of the day I felt proud of myself and to this day still am.
This personal accomplishment is meaningful to me, since it makes me proud of the fact that I'm trilingual.
At the beginning of my French classes, my thoughts were that it was going to be hard but it wasn't. My Spanish knowledge helped me gain control of the language quicker. It was challenging, but nothing I couldn’t overcome. Whenever I needed help, I would ask my French teacher or classmates for clarification on what I was struggling with. In other words, I love learning and every little thing that I learn becomes part of who I am. Learning French was an amazing opportunity that my school gave me. This relates to the person that I am because, I love interacting with people and learning things from them, for example their likes and dislikes, where they come from, and getting to know the variety of people that live on this planet because we are all human but we aren't the same. We are all different in our own little ways, so being able to speak with other people who speak English or Spanish or French in my opinion is an enormous
achievement.
After talking to the old man, I realized I did something that changed the person I am for the rest of my life. I worked hard in order to make this a part of me. All my hard work and effort was worthwhile . In addition, knowing how to speak French will come in use for the rest of my life I can use it at work, and when I travel. I love traveling and learning about different cultures and French is a language spoken worldwide. Being a trilingual defines who I truly am.
