“LET’S GO BOYS!!!! LET’S WIN THIS!!! BEAT THESE RAVENS!!!!!!” The crowd was screaming and chanting wildly as we began to run out of the locker rooms and onto the large football field. I lead them, raising my arms up and down to signal the crowd to get louder with their cheers. As I did this, I was also sprinting to the middle of the field through the large slit that was cut for my eyes. I turned back to the crowd in the stands, and the players ran around me, with smiles of their faces, to get to their positions and the bench. I started to jump and raise my arms, “ FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!!” They all chanted my name in union, some of them even had signs and horns! A large smile crept onto my face behind my large mascot mask, and I couldn’t…

Down in the locker room, one of my favorite coaches looked at my team and stated, “I’m sorry. I will not be returning next year to be your coach.” I sat there almost in tears, because at that moment my love for basketball almost left with him. Billy Martin was a favorite coach of mine. He loved each of us like one of his own, and treated all of us the same. He wanted each of us to succeed and would do anything to help us reach that. Coach Martin instilled in me no matter how talented a person was, you could always beat them by working hard. I could not believe he would not be my head coach next year, but he did soften the blow by saying he would still be around until we were use to our new head coach. We were all very upset about his department…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is a great accomplishment”. A question such as “who am I”? Really gives me the opportunity to differentiate and express who I really am and who I can be. I am not a complex person who thinks the world is against me, nor am I overly sophisticated “know-it-all” who doesn't take time to pay attention to my surroundings. I can't say that I am like every other person because there are certain things that make me a unique individual. What I can say is that I am progressing towards a brighter future.…
