Personal Narrative: San Jacinto College
Frightening rapid explosion of loud bursting shots, brass shell casings hitting the floor one after another. Car windows busting out, glass flying everywhere. Metal fragments piercing holes all through the parked vehicles. Terrified citizens flinching their hands, curling up as they run away from the outrageous gun slinging of two individuals. Having no mercy of shooting on the street corner during broad day light, was just another ordinary day of altercations. Unknowingly going downhill, doing everything from carrying pistols, corrupt racketeering to becoming addicted to fast money. My main problem was not feeling death. Partying as well as loving the luscious accompany with women, was my lust, till I saw I hit the floor.

She keeps asking when I am going to go back to school. She assumes it will help keep me out of trouble. Thinking about what she said, I decide to go online to check what San Jacinto College has to offer. Researching all the crafts that I evaluated, taking it one day at a time while working in the plants. Decided to look into how I could increase my knowledge without wasting my time, day after day. I wanted to get in and out of school to get in a field that I was familiar with. Everybody these days wants to be a welder not for the purpose of enjoying what they do, but to get paid at least six figures. Not for me, I tried to weld with the opportunities of friends at work, except I was not satisfied with being smothered by a fire blanket. I always wanted to be in a high position to show all the people that told me, “I was never going to be shit”. I always told myself I will be my own boss. My goal setting is to make legit fast cash to start up a couple of different businesses. San Jacinto College offers a certification that will allow me to do just what I want. Now I can receive a certification in the field where people hear to drop their jaw and raised their eyebrows, like they’ve messed up in a career choice. Discovered the NDT degree program that allows you to complete and receive certifications of classroom training. As I go along achieving as many certifications as I can, I plan to move towards certified welder inspector

“Slow down, future leaders of America at play,” a sign engrained in my memory as a result of the numerous volunteer trips I took to Mountain Mission School. Mountain Mission School (MMS) is a Christian boarding school and home to many children, who come from devastating backgrounds and poverty. Receiving no government funding, Mountain Mission School located in Grundy, Virginia operates solely on private donations and generous charities from churches all over America. In addition to a school, MMS played a key role in my life. Not only was MMS my home but also my church starting from second grade up until I graduated high school.…

Not knowing where to go. But feeling the building rumble and shake in my fear of claustrophobia. I remember hearing “GET DOWN! RUN!” Making a quick mover I jumped forward and make a break for the fire exit, it was crowded with men and women crying in pain, I joined them. The only thing I could think about is getting out of this place and Michael. I kept on stumbling down the steps holding on to people on my way down. Feeling a terrible pain in my right thigh, I peered down and saw a big gash of blood and a clear shard. I guess I couldn’t feel it because of all the adrenaline. I didn’t have time for this, only for Michael and escaping. From above a sound of falling concrete and metal bending brought an increase of screams. Maybe that woman from earlier was caught up there, so much for being important. I finally found a clearing of light from the exit. Flooding people out of the exit seemed like a liquid rushing out of a beer bottle. Finally, I made it outside but my matters have only gotten worse, the building was collapsing and I’m under everything. A lady grabbed me from the back and pulled me hard, making me drop down. Dodging a cinderblock, thanking her I ran the opposite way of the building and looking for the closest cover. Glancing back I saw people getting crushed from the construction above. There was no time to think, I had to go. Finding a distant building I took cover with the rest of the citizens praying for their life. “What’s happening?” I hollered. An old man next to me said “an attack.” My eyes widened as I watched the building fully collapse upon hundreds and hundreds of innocent people. “Who would’ve done this?” I asked terrified. The man ignored me as he watched the people were panicking. He might be panicking, but not showing his emotion. I calmed down my breathing and took a drink from a kind man giving out bottles from the café, also bandaging my wound keeping…

This is because, when I first came to Napa Valley college, I had also just obtained my first job. The job which would allow me to help sustain myself and help my family financially. I was not used to this type of schedule when I first came into Napa College. This Is because I didn't know how to manage my time, and simply didn't know what to make as my major primary. I was confused whether to make school or make work a primary. So, I ended up making them both as a priory, which meant dedicating half and half to each. Later on, I found out that I didn't have…

Throughout every college experience there are two sides to every story. One day, while I was laying peacefully on my bed, my mother came in with a letter from Florida A&M University. I didn't really want to speculate anything because a few days before I received a letter from another college saying that I wasn't accepted. Nevertheless I was still excited when I opened it and even more so when I read that I had been accepted. So without much hesitation I packed up and headed to Tallahassee. When I arrived my mother and I took care of registration and a plethora of things you have to manage as a new student. After all the hassles of college registration were completed my mother departed for home and I was left by myself to attend college. What a great feeling! Little did I know what I had on store for the next day, my first in college.…

It was the morning of move in day. I said goodbye to my home and headed out. I passed the local shopping market and my high school where I enjoyed a fun four years. As I headed to Norman I realized I was leaving everything I had ever known. All my life has consisted of living in the same house, going to school with the same kids, and going to the same supermarkets and restaurants. While I’d like to say I have developed a good idea of the world around me by visiting so many cities around the United States, in reality the only world I’ve ever known is the same one I have spent my whole life in. I have loved growing up in Northwest Oklahoma City with the friends that have helped shaped me into who I am today, however I relished the opportunity…

The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school. And boy was I right, the facility was clean and professional looking very much like a professional gym would appear, the staff where all kind and ready to assist you if help was ever necessary, something that I truly valued. I was extremely exited to take a spinning class at the FIU gym, I had only ever heard positive reviews and I was looking forward to the experience as well. Personally I am obsessed with fitness so any class, or activity is something that I love to experience which is what drove me to experience the class myself, and did, I love it. When I got out of that class I was sweating so much, I felt like I had gone on a run around the world and it so amazing, the instructor knew exactly what she was doing and had no problem helping you out if you needed it, the music was fun and exiting extremely up tempo. Overall I can only rave about the experience, it was positive and motivational. It has truly inspired me to no matter how stressed I may be I can always go down to the gym and relieve my stress while gaining a benefit as well.…
