In the middle of the experiment, I encountered a challenge. The challenge I faced was performing serial dilutions for the colloidal silver, a part involved with the silver nanoparticles. It required knowledge of advanced concepts from the realm of science. This was a challenge because I have never seen the equations associated with the dilutions before. With working hard and taking difficult science and math courses
during my high school career, I was able to utilize my previous experiences, as well as collaborating with teachers, in order to overcome this challenge. In the end, with all this hard work, I placed first at the CASAC Science Fair. I was astonished and proud of my work ethic and persistence to keep going with this project. This was a great accomplishment in my academic career since I never had a chance to place first at a science fair. This made me more confident in my abilities to become an orthodontist when I am older.
