I specifically picked the song Yellow Submarine because my Uncle bought the movie for me and my sister when we were younger. I remember being simultaneously terrified by the Blue Meanies and intrigued by the idea of Pepperland. My sister and I would watch the movie over and over again for weeks to the point where Yellow Submarine was permanently stuck in my mind. Besides Yellow Submarine, I love Blackbird, all of the songs in the movie Across the Universe, which is one of my favorite movies, and countless other songs by them. I had not listened to the Beatles since I was a kid until I was in high school and I would listen to Breakfast With The Beatles everyday on my drive to school. I was in elementary school when I made my mom buy her CD for me and I used to play the songs That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man! I Feel Like A Woman on repeat. That Don’t Impress Me Much is especially important to me because it was my first experience with a country song and I now really enjoy some country music. Also, it was the first time I recognized myself being attracted to a song merely because of the feeling it gave me.
