Twenty One Pilots-Personal Narrative
Purpose
“Sometimes quiet is violent,” those words ring into the teeming stadium as thousands of zealous fans sing along. One of those fans happen to be myself, standing in the middle of the pit of people. Two shadowy silhouettes exist on stage; one on the piano and the other on the drums. Then suddenly the lights flash revealing an immense sign labeled Twenty One Pilots. Tyler Joseph on the piano, and Josh Dunn on the drums. Tyler only concentrates on the piano, barely letting the singing crowd impede his focus. Josh is coated in a thick layer of sweat, as he gently strikes the cymbals, just enough to give an ominous feel. As the middle of their song, “Car Radio” approaches, Josh asks Tyler to sit in a chair. Although we want to cheer, conversely, we watch in anticipation, as Tyler obscured by a white sheet, just barely covering his scrawny body. Abruptly, Josh removes the sheet, and Tyler is gone.
All of us are galvanized, and clueless to where he resides. All of the sudden, at the drop of a hat, we hear, “I have these thoughts, so often I ought, to replace that slot with what I once bought, cause someone stole my car radio, and now I just sit in silence.” The crowd around me, erupted with cheers. Meanwhile, Tyler reappeared in

All of us have a lot of questions, and we don’t have the answers to those questions; that can really discourage us. I was in college and that’s how I felt. Consequently, that led to many dismal thoughts, because I assumed that I didn’t serve a purpose. One event in particular gave me an idea, that I could begin the cycle of purpose for myself. Once, I was nonchalantly strolling to my car from class, when I spotted an anomaly in the distance. My car had been burglarized, which made me a mix of complicated emotions. I sprinted to my car, hopefully nothing had been taken. Although, the doors were wide open, only one thing was stolen; my car radio. “Why me,” I screamed at the

On the first day of practice he introduced himself as “Jimmy Johnson” our defense line coach. He had a beer belly and glasses and slick wet hair and nappy eye brows and an itchy musty beard. His breath smelled like dog liver. My first impression of him is he just looks weird and mean. We began practice we ran around cones. We went over plays. Where we should line up according to the offense. Coach Johnson always thought he knew what is best for us. He would have running like slaves on D’jango. Coach ran the soles off my cleats. After all this running, my girdle begun chafing creating a rash like an unchanged baby. My feet would always hurt after practice. Looking down my feet was throbbing like a heartbeat. We would run all the lines on the…

On February 5th, 1992, I, Richard Joseph Gallot, was born at two fifteen in the morning, at St. Francis Medical Center. I am the son of Rick Gallot and Tammy Johnston and I am the only child. As an infant, I lived in Grambling, Louisiana, on one forty one Gallot drive. For about the next two years, my parents developed issues with each other. Then, at the age of two years old, my parents divorced. My father got custody of me and continued living in Grambling while my mother moved around the west coast. From age two until about age twelve, I have been traveling back and forth from Grambling to Dallas. It was hard for me to understand why both of my parents aren’t waking me up every morning together, like all my friends at school. As a child I…

With the lyrics being chosen meticulously, each song's lyrics portray a story like no other. Also, the instrumentals complement the vocals in way that don’t seem out of place like much of today’s music. However, unlike currently trending songs, the album contains several traces of complexity within it that, when carefully analyzed, reveal more profound and convoluted messages. For instance, Slowtown is a perfect example of track that is easy to understand but is also complex. It starts off slow, like its name suggests, before quickly picking up speed to portray how life just flashes by in an instance. It is because of songs like these that helped the band gain traction a rapid rate in the music industry. A majority of their success is mainly attributed to being “spurred on by constant energetic touring, shrewd use of interactive social media, and connecting with fans on a grassroots level” (“Twenty One Pilots on Apple Music”). Not only did their involvement with their fans aid in varying the way they performed, but it also contributed to their experience when it came to composing even more amazing tracks. To boldly stand out from the crowd, this album utilizes its platform to convey a message that a plethora of youth can genuinely relate to on a personal…

I am a role model, a friend, peer, student, co-worker, comedian, mediator, relative and sometimes a royal pain. If I did not acquire all of these qualities I would not be the person I am today and I would not be living the fulfilled pleasing life that I am presently living. There are several aspects throughout my life that keep me going on such as; the gratitude I obtain when I help a friend or family member get through a tough situation. Also when I finish a difficult job on my own and I receive praise, or are told how grateful someone is to have me in their life. These all give me the will to continue on living life and help me to discover my true purpose. However not all of my days are quite as rewarding and some days can be more difficult than others. There is always going to be thorns within a bed of roses; those thorns can bring on feelings of depression, and anger leading to low self-esteem. Sometimes these hardships in life may give me the feelings of not want to go on; then I take my positive side of life and reassure myself that there is always tomorrow and things can always be resolved. With this in mind I am able to collect my feelings and thoughts and make it through all those rough moments. For instance when Frankl was in the concentration camps there must have been times when he just wanted to give up and end his life, but he stayed strong and stuck it out until the end. If I believed that I did not have any purpose in life I know that I would not try to accomplish anything or even bother trying to associate with others. When I put all my strength and motivation together it gives me the will keep going and thrive for my very best in anything that I do. -how many gay men, lezbian women never come out because they dont want to be disgraced by others. people are afraid to be themselves becuase of society-hypicritical and judgemental-Sometimes it happeneds later in life and to find their true calling.…

At one point in my life, before I entered into high school, I did not know the direction I was heading to. A time where, I felt, I did not have an exact purpose in life; where I did not care what could happen to me or anyone else. I did not try my best in anything, I gave up too fast at everything, I never tried to push through anything. My carelessness, at the time, did not do any good for me or my future. I struggled too much at the time and I did not try anything to push through in any way, shape, or form. During this time I reached one of the lowest points in my life where I never would want to end up again.…

Learning what elements motivate me helped me to identify my purpose. Most of us don’t get epiphanies. We only get a whisper— only with time and understanding of self did I recognize the whisper, and connect the whisper to an answer I call wisdom. Of course, there’s never a single right answer. At some point, it feels right enough that I chose, and devote my time and energy to making my choice fruitful.…

Our lives have been a spontaneity predicament to somewhere pessimistically nowhere. I have been wandering and wondering for years and decades of what life has to offer and what it has brought upon me. I think I am legally old enough to predict life isn’t going to be an easy ride. Many things have changed, and will change. Little things will remain and stay. I wonder what are the things that needed to stay and what are the things that has to be left behind or omit. Omitting something may be good or bad, just as the same as remembering. Why do I need to remember and why do I have to forget? Is it really forgetting or might I say forgiving? What are the purpose of all these? What is the purpose of life?…
