If you have ever seen the show Survivor on the television, you can relate that life is a large scale version of this game. In the show, you will find people competing against each other with mental and physical challenges along the way. That is how your everyday life is. In life you will be faced with tasks that push you to your breaking point and make you feel as you if are a small fish in a big pond, while there some moments may give you that feeling of floating on cloud nine. How you react and the decisions you make will show whether you are a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean. This situation of adversity made me similar to the egg. An egg before put into boiling water is soft and easy to break, but after boiling it is hard and unrelenting. Before I this event I was like a sponge, absorbing what anyone said to me. After everything that I went through, I become a person who didn’t take anything from anyone. That is why after facing this point of adversity I felt I was more similar to an egg placed in boiling water than the rest. While every situation is going to be faced differently, I leaned more towards the egg due to the outer shell of personality it created on me. I had become so mad at the world that I couldn’t think straight. There were times I would sit in my room, just cry, and ask God “Why us?” But I always believed He had a greater plan than any of us could have designed. Some may look at this situation as a negative, but the most positive part of the entire process was my family got closer with God. We didn’t miss a single service at church, and I noticed my family praying and reading the Bible more. We were always the “Christian type,” but I saw my family become enriched in the wonderful word of God. There is no doubt in my mind that we wouldn’t have made it through if it weren’t for
