Into the Wild personal response Into the wild is a book by Jon Krakauer it describes the story of Christopher McCandless. The book is based on the true events of Christopher's life during the year 1992. McCandless was a 24 year old who after he ran away from home in 1990 from Annadale Virginia where he was born, eventually hitchhiked to Alaska where he died from eating toxic potato seeds. The book describes the two years between his college graduation and his death in Alaska. Christopher stopped talking to his family and gave away his $25,000 college fund to charity and abandoned his car in a flash flood before changing his name to "Alexander Supertramp". For the first few months he worked at a grain elevator in South Dakota before leaving
to survive on his own in the Alaskan wilderness where he found a empty bus where he lived for approximately 119 days.
Christopher's main goal throughout the time after the graduated college was to obtain ultimate freedom by living by himself in the Alaskan wilderness. This want for ultimate freedom represents how Christopher feels Principles over people
