Review Of Chris Mccandless 'Into The Wild'

“If your presence can't add value to my life your absence will make no difference.” Have you ever thought about venturing out into the wild? If so what would you bring? Chris McCandless went out on a journey thinking he could survive the great Alaska, he let his ignorance control his life.Therefore claimed his life. McCandless the main character “Into The Wild” is a reckless and selfish human being. In the novel it states that “his family had no idea where he was or what had become of him until his remains turned up in Alaska.” He made his parents suffer not knowing where their son was at. Chris McCandless actions was clearly a sign of stupidity almost suicidal. He had chances to survive and turn this around. His first mistake
He wanted to be like other noble authors like Tolstoy , Jack London, etc. To live up to their expectations. Such as leaving everything behind. He donated all his money to a charity. Then McCandless died being brave and different than other for believing what he thinks is right. McCandless could have lived on and tell his story if he survived none of his favorite authors died doing what McCandless did. Since Chris died attempting to do that he failed others see it as he died doing what he thought was right. He burned his money he had left in pocket why not give it to someone like how he donated the money or was it a fast way to get rid of a plethora of money. In my opinion McCandless is a narcissistic bastard not telling his loved ones that he will be off alone in Alaska. Chris McCandless went out on a journey he could survive the Great Alaska, he let his ignorance control his life. Chris journey went downhill when he underestimate what to bring to The Last Frontier. He didn't notify his loved ones only caring about himself. McCandless is still a narcissistic in my point of view. Why wouldn't he at least tell them he was going off the grid for a few months or weeks. Why didn't he come to Alaska to get a taste of how it is, to be able to prepare
