Personal Statement: What Caused Your Stress
1. What Caused Your Stress? The overall stress inducer was me debating whether or not the program I am currently in is something I will have a continued interest in. Before starting my Architecture program, I was excited to see how my life would evolve and change to fit the program. I have been struggling to find that same spark of interest in architecture I had on day one.

2. Describe How You Felt, Both Physically and Emotionally.

It is very difficult accepting the fact that you lost your passion with something you dreamt of doing for years. Generally, I am a bright person. I don’t like to share my issues with others because it makes the situation negative. After discovering this revelation, I felt like there was nothing I could do. I felt I would be stuck with a career I would hate for the rest of my life. Physically, I felt more tired. I started slacking with my work. I lost interest in school and my education.

Describe How You Acted in Response to the Stress or Situation.

I began to be distant with my family. I always told them when I grow up I would build a dream house for them. Now that my motivation for architecture is gone, that dream is gone. I began keeping to myself and not talking much with other people like my friends. Whenever I felt inadequate with myself, I would isolate myself in order to ponder on solutions.
