In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

In terms of my personal goals, the most prominent is to be consistently resilient in the way I structure my time. My current skill level in this area is framed around "capable but cautious" and this limits me somewhat from truly mastering resiliency. When I develop more confidence and faith in myself, I will grow more successful in implementing a more effective use of time. My friends’ who help me to care for my six year old son, are by far the most instrumental in helping me to be more successful with time sensitive endeavors. I will secure their help by offering them praise and showing my appreciation as often as I am able. By effectively supporting others, I am more likely to find it easier to delegate responsibility when I need help.…

Becoming an Attorney-At-Law was not meant to be but still I had a burning desire and passion inside me to become a trained professional, so I thought I heard the kitchen calling, I could almost hear sounds of pots and pans cluttering, I could see spatula moving against thickly covered sides of bowls and a beautiful sight and sound it was. Cooking and baking I thought was my calling, my God given passion, I could feel it, even taste it. Whilst in high school, I chose Food and Nutrition as my area of specialisation at Clan Carthy High School, over a two period 2000 -2001.…
