This is my personal SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Strengths and weaknesses are both internal to the person or company. Opportunities and threats are both external to the person or company.
Strengths
I feel blessed to have some of these qualities in my “corner” so to speak. I don’t think I could have accomplished as much as I have if it weren’t for some of these strengths. * Strong math skills * Team player * Strong drive to improve weaknesses * Patient * Highly competitive
Weaknesses
I have worked hard to get where I currently am in life, but I feel some of my qualities have held me back. Since one of my strengths is a strong drive to improve my weaknesses, I feel with time I can turn my weaknesses into strengths as well. * Weak communication skills * Harsh self-judgment * Procrastination
Steps to Turn Weaknesses Into Strengths
I have been focusing on my communication skills for the last couple year. Since, I have noticed much progress, but I am currently not where I want them to be. My steps to improve this quality are to meet as many people as possible, go to events sponsored by career services that help improve communication and make me a better candidate for employment, and have leadership positions in the clubs and organizations that I am involved. Another weakness I intend to improve is my harsh self-judgment. I think as I progress in my career and life, this quality will eventually dissipate, so I think knowing it is a weakness is the first step to improve it. The final weakness I have to improve is procrastination. The first step is to acknowledge it, which I have already acknowledged it’s existence. Currently, I am forcing myself to do the hard thing, which never involves TV, video games, or Facebook. This semester I am making myself read the chapters and do homework every night, which I have never been able to successfully do before. I hope after
