Persuasive Animal Adoption Essay

In search of something to fill an empty house hold, the Adams looked through pet stores, shelters, and rescue groups to find a furry friend. They had though they had seen all of their possibilities until they arrived at the Lawrence Humane Society. The Adams saw a young puppy who was so excited to see a family that she peed all over the floor. This puppy, Lady, went home with the Adams the following week and this is where she lives now. Breeding dogs, while prestigious, adds to the already bloated population of this species in The United States. Adoption takes animals, more specifically, dogs, who would normally be either kept in a shelter, or euthanized and provides a loving home for them. Therefore, breeding should be minimized and adoption should be maximized; both for the overall health and safety of the animals, but also to contain the population. Choosing to adopt, you get to save a pet’s life, and who doesn’t want to save a life. By the adoption of a pet, you provide a second chance for the animal that you are taking home with you and you are opening a space for a new animal to come in and be cared for by a shelter or rescue group. It is a win for you finding a friend and for your new companion finding a forever home. Almost all of the pets shown today are pets in shelters or rescue groups near you.
