Persuasive Essay Evaluation
While writing the persuasive essay, I enjoyed the process as it was great to focus on a topic that I preferred. The topic I chose to write made it easier for me to write because child beauty pageants interest me and I felt that there should be more awareness towards this topic. As I was writing the essay, I liked how the persuasive essay allowed me to persuade the reader into my chosen view of point and to act upon child beauty pageants. Overall, it was easy to write the essay due to the chosen topic not giving any challenges in finding points and evidences.

One issue that was brought to my attention from the peer reviews was small grammatical errors and word choices. I agree with my peers regarding this issue as after reading the essay myself,

    Improvements can be made in my essay in the areas of word choice and conventions. Throughout the essay, some words were used that should not have been. Above all, the biggest problem in this essay is the absence of a second counter argument. I was only able to write one body paragraph for the counter arguments, instead of two. In the future, I must improve on my conclusion and always keep it open. A small word choice error that can be improved is using the word “altered” instead of the word “made” with regards to my sentence about life being altered by multiple people.     Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important.     Many people argue that internal factors within the Roman Empire caused it to fall were many social, economical, and political problems. One political problem was that the emperors and leaders became corrupt with power and wealth and then most soldiers in the army fended for themselves and didn't work together. The troops soon became pillagers targeting other citizens like them. “The troops became the enemy within; pillage and slaughter of fellow citizens was indiscriminate”(Santosuosso). Once the Roman army could no longer defend its own borders, the Germanic tribes began to invade and Roman provinces fell on after another. After Marius's reform which made it so that anyone with a Roman citizenship could join the army. This made more citizens to join, but they wanted immediate wealth, material goods and improve their condition, they chose to not to be loyal to the republic but to any leader who provided booty for them.
