Persuasive Essay On Cyberbullying
Many kids have or are being cyberbullied today. Bullying is just the bully to the victim, but cyberbullying can have much wider audiences and can be a lot harder to ignore or avoid. With all of the new technology and social media sites, cyberbullying is becoming more common. This leads me to believe that individuals should be prosecuted for cyberbullying. Kids who are cyberbullied are more likely to use alcohol and drugs, skip school, have a lower self-esteem, and also have more health issues. Approximately 30,000 teens skip school every day due to the fear of being bullied or from being cyberbullied. Even though, cyberbullying can not physically harm anyone, it still hurts people emotionally and causes them to feel insecure and unwanted. This is why many more people are considering, attempting, or actually committing suicide.

That is true, but social media sites can be used for positive activities as well, like connecting people with friends and family, helping students with school, and for entertainment. Kids should not feel like they can’t be on social media without being cyberbullied. The person bullying should just learn that if they do not have anything nice to say, then they shouldn’t say anything at all. Cyberbullying and traditional bullying is just not needed. There are enough teens today that feel insecure about themselves. Cyberbullying does not do anything but cause problems and cause people to feel bad about themselves. Everyone should be able to go to school or wherever they want and get on social media without feeling unsafe or insecure. If individuals were prosecuted for cyberbullying, then I think cyberbullying would not be as big of an issue and would not occur as much as it does
