In 1961, the world was changed forever, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin entered the spacecraft Vostok 1 and traveled into space. Following him in the same year, was the American astronaut Alan Shepard in Freedom 7. Then in 1969 the crew of the Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon. This space race in the 1960s helped to light the fire of man’s interest in outer space and has lead mankind to wonder if we could live away from the comfort and safety of planet Earth. Many scientist and explorers have wondered if it would be possible to colonize the Moon or Mars for the purpose of research, resources, and hopefully a secondary home for the human race. However, many people have also doubted the idea of leaving the safety of planet Earth to explore other options of habitable places. Many argue that space exploration is dangerous and some critics argue that it is using too much money that could…

I can only imagine what it would be like traveling to space. It is not something I sit around and think about doing. Those who had the pleasures of going to space, like the astronauts, are those who had been preparing for such a career. This does not make me want to go to space, going to space is like dying and going to the other side, you just do not know what to expect. Science tells us that space is like a never ending hole. This sounds a little creepy, but space really is not all that scary, it is quite amazing actually. Science tells us that space is a galaxy with many stars, planets, and rocks. However, I am against civilians in space because civilians are inexperienced and the cost can become extremely high.…

The SpaceX Mars Program and the Falcon 9 rockets are more complex than what the world thinks. The SpaceX Mars Program launches the rockets that are designed by entrepreneur Elon Musk, with the goal to reduce space transportation cost and enable colonization of Mars. However, The Falcon 9 is the process of landing rockets correctly and what will have to be done before sending humans off to Mars. Even though, in the article “SpaceX Mars” explains the trip to Mars and the number of expenses for safety that is needed to continue the process. On the other hand, “The Falcon Has Landed” presents a stronger argument by indicating that focusing on the rockets can increase the chances of improving landings, safe transports, and reducing cost.…

Mars one is sending people to Mars to colonize the planet. This might sound cool and interesting, but wait there’s a catch, the astronauts never come back. thats right, when the launch to Mars takes place in 2025 there’s no turning back. When you go to Mars, you stay there and die there. For example, Mars one also dosn’t have enough money for this event. As the astronauts can see, the trip to Mars is very risky for many reasons. Humans would not be able survive on planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, or Neptune because those planets are Gas Giants. There is no surface, the planet is made up entirely of gas and atmosphere and the cores would thus most likely be liquid. Mercury, the innermost planet in our solar system, is a terrestrial planet which means it has a hard rocky surface. And although that is true*, humans still would not be able to live on Mercury. There is no atmosphere and because Mercury’s distance is substantially closer to the Sun, temperatures are exceedingly high. Venus is the second planet from Sun and is also a terrestrial planet. The size and mass of Venus is relative to Earth in that they are similar under those characteristics. But due to Venus’ dense carbon dioxide atmosphere, living on its surface would be quite impossible. Venus also has dense sulfur dioxide clouds which makes this planet have the strongest greenhouse effect. And because of this Venus is actually hotter in temperature than Mercury. But what about Mars? Are we able to colonize and inhabit the planet Mars?…
