Syrian citizens have a hard time getting out of Syria because they lost almost everything and were afraid they might get killed by the locals. On the other hand, neighboring countries are metaphorically “spitting in their faces” instead of helping them to get out of this sticky situation. They are turning a “blind eye” on their former allies and are forcing people to enter their countries as refugees and are treating them inhumanly because of some financial standing. In addition, other countries are not allowing people carrying a Syrian passport into their country even as refugees. Believing that the civil war currently transpiring in Syria will affect everyone’s comportment towards other denizens and may lead to an incrimination in crime rates in their country. I experienced a similar situation myself when I was trying to move out of Syria. After hearing the bad news that my visa request to Dubai was rejected, I applied for an African passport which was my last resort. A month went by, and I received my passport. I applied for a second visa and surprisingly it was accepted, but I was considered an African and not Syrian. My nationality on my personal ID, student ID and driver’s license was African and not Syrian. As a result, everyone believed I was African and not Syrian which made me think that the government wanted people to think their safe and that there are no Syrians in their
