While this concern is completely justified morally, the facts just don’t add up. According to CNN, “the primary perpetrators of the major terror attacks have mostly been US-born citizens or permanent legal residents originally from countries not included in the ban”. To summarize, refugees really are not the problem here! Most terror attacks that happen within the United States are domestic. Take Dylan Roof for instance, who stormed into an African-American church and shot nine people.…

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 27, 2017. The order bans citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for at least 90 days. The order also suspended refugee admission program of the US for 120 days. US officials added that the order is only a first step toward a wider ban, which is aimed at protecting the US from terrorist attacks. The executive order is in line with President Trump’s campaign pledge. He promised a total and complete shutdown of Muslim immigration during his presidential campaign.…

“‘This shows who the ban really impacts: the world’s most vulnerable women and children who are fleeing terror,’ said Jennifer Sime, a senior vice president at the International Rescue Committee, a humanitarian organization focused on refugees. ‘America is turning away from its leadership role on refugee settlement, and its the refugees who are paying the price’” (Goldman). The United Nations did an assessment of children in all different countries to find out the ones in the greatest need of emergency international assistance, and they discovered that the top five nations of children in need were in Trump’s list of seven banned countries: Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen (Goldman). The same people in the United States that are preaching from their soap boxes about the importance of child health and welfare are turning their backs on entire nations of children need in critical conditions. Over 5.1 million children are displaced in Iraq, Somalia is described as a state of chronic humanitarian crisis, and Unicef, an organization working internationally advocating for children, says that Syria’s humanitarian crisis is equal to that of World War II (Goldman). America used to be a nation to set a standard of humanitarianism, and after decades of helping countries out when people were in a time of need, the nation has sent people away that are…

Just recently, Trump signed a new executive order banning immigrants from six Muslim majority countries. In the new order, Iraq is not included because they agreed to share more information with the United States. In the new order, there is explicit language that allows green card holders re-entry into the United States. The new order does not indefinitely ban Syrian refugees “and called for prioritizing the admission of refugees who are religion minorities in their home countries” (CNN), prioritizing Christian over Muslim refugees. In an attempt to gain support for the new travel ban, it states that the FBI has reported “that approximately 300 … refugees are currently the subjects of counter-terrorism investigations” (CNN). The order lasts for 90 days, starting March 16. As of now, multiple states have joined together to challenge the order in court and one judge has already struck the ban down regarding a Syrian family trying to find refuge in Wisconsin. The order has not yet taken effect but already seems to be on a path towards…

I believe the U.S. should accept more refugees to connect races, stop their fear of persecution, religion, political opinions. Most americans agree with U.S. help for refugees and also we can decrease disgraceful thing in America history. Refugees do not come on a whim, they come because they have situations that force them to come. In recent years, a lot of refuges have to leave Syria because of civil wars, persecutions and much violence. In this arduous situation, the other countries had to make a decision to accept or not in the country. US candidates do not agree with the argument of refugees. Donald Trump does not want the refugees to migrate to the country because they cause violence, while Hillary Clinton is willing to give them a place…

As most of us know, recently there was an attack at Paris by a popular group of terrorist known as Isis, although this is not their first attack, whether or not refugees are to be accepted into the U.S. has brought more attention. ISIS stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and they are a group of religious extremist and their main goal is to create a group of Muslims who will all follow their extremist beliefs. The problem with that is that now many Muslims are being shamed because of this group, even if all theses other poor people may have nothing to do with ISIS, they are being dragged into their problems, Now many other states are refusing to let thousands of innocent refugees into their land for the sake…

Latinos. They’re a problem. Whenever most people go down the street they see more and more taco trucks and party shops with frilly chairs up in the front with the word QUINCEANERA printed in bold face. Good old Americans no longer have to buy a lawn mower and mow their lawns themselves because they can just call up a guy named Juan and ask him to do it for less than minimum. All of our hard earned American dollars are being wasted on “immigration reform” because apparently a visa is “hard” to get. However, there is a solution to this growing problem. Since, President Elect Donald J. Trump will build a wall to keep the rest out, and since all immigrants are illegal rapists, criminals, and drug dealers, instead of granting them visas, we make them learn their lesson and throw them over the wall with a catapult. It’s a sure fire way to make America great again.…

While Donald Trump was campaigning for his presidency, one of the platforms that he ran on was immigration reform. His immigration reform included extreme vetting of refugees and immigrants to protect the United States from terrorist attacks. On January 27, 2017 President Trump signed an Executive order that instantly imposed a 3-month ban on immigrants from seven major Muslim countries. The countries were Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. The order also suspended the U.S. refugee assistance program for 4 months and placed an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria. “ Refugees are admitted to the united states based upon an inability to return to their home countries because of a “well-founded fear of persecution” due to their race, membership in a particular social group, political opinion, religion, or national origin.” ( American Immigration Council) In the twenty-first century, people everywhere are being criticized for many things. The most common being gender, race and religion. All around the world, people are leaving their home countries and going into different countries for safety. Most of these immigrants possess a green card, which allows them legally to come into the other country and live there until they feel safe to go back. However some feel safer in the new country and stay…
