Persuasive Speech About High School Football
When was the last time you went to a high school football game? Is football the sport you like most? I will explain the reasons why I believe high school football is a benefit to students in high school. There are many sports in high school but football has always stood out to me. I am from a small town in Texas, and I must admit there is no greater feeling than playing high school football. I like that a single inspirational speech or an impactful player can make a difference in winning or losing. I like to see who stands up and takes charge or makes a difference when the game is on the line. When those lights come on and your town is there to support you and cheer for you it’s a battle to the end. Young high school adults try to make their …show more content…
How else could you learn to get better if you didn’t practice? Practice is there to build your skills and get better at anything you practice on. To me the best part of practices are two-a-days. When you spend all summer being lazy and not having anything to do and then come into that 100+ degree heat workouts. Nothing better than seeing people getting sick or out of breath. Running all those sprints to get back in shape. Trying to fight all the cramps and sores that come with the workouts are fun because you never win. That is why before practices start you must first conduct some stretch routines. Stretching before practice only helps you out. It helps keep you from producing injuries. There are times that a team can’t practice. Bad weather can lead up to a team practice or even a game being canceled. Practice leads to game …show more content…
Homecoming is a game for alumni to come home and enjoy a game with the rest of the community. Homecoming is usually the only game I watch now-a-days. It is the one game the stands are so packed that if you don’t get there early you are standing the whole game. School is usually let out early and there is a big parade. The whole town gets together for a day. During half time of the game a homecoming queen is crowned. (Some towns/communities might crown their homecoming queen at a different day.) Everybody in the community likes to gets mums/garters for their boyfriends/girlfriends and even for their kids. The worst part of a game (especially homecoming) is to see a player get

You earn recognition, all your playing time, and a starting position through hard work. I grew up playing all kinds of different sports. I played baseball, football and later in life I started to swim competitively. In each case, I had to learn to take the responsibility to do my part—for myself and for my teammates. Practice was mandatory and took priority over other interests of mine. This was hard for me, since I missed out on school dances, family activities and other fun events because I had to be at practice everyday. It also forced me to learn good time management skills as I started to balance school, a social life, daily two-hour practices and games on the weekends. The coaches can only teach so much and, while they tried, couldn’t force me to learn my plays or study in my off time. I knew my hard work was paying off when my coach would say, “Good job Gunnar, I’m proud of you!” That one sentence made me realize that my hard work had paid off and that I should continue to work even harder, not only in sports but also in everything I…

Year after year, faithful collegiate football fans gather around the tailgate of their cars in parking lots around the nation and cook mediocre meals that taste delicious at the time because they share it with their fellow fans and season ticket holders. They all live different lives, but on Saturday, every weekend, they are the same, crazed fans that keep coming back to see their favorite team or Alma matter finish the day with a victory and so they can add one more to the win column of their record. Hopefully, they do not have to experience a loss and this year’s team goes undefeated, with a shot to play in the national championship and prove to the country, in one game, that they are the best college football team in America.…

References: United States[edit source | editbeta]Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States. People, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back alumni and former residents. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet and, most often, a game of American football, or, on occasion, basketball, ice hockey or soccer. When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. However, they usually consist of a football game played on a school 's home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school 's marching band and sports teams, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen (and at many schools, a Homecoming King). A dance commonly follows the game. When attached to a football game, Homecoming traditionally occurs on the team 's return from the longest road trip of the season. The game itself, whether it be football or another sport, will typically feature the home team playing a considerably weaker opponent. The game is supposed to be an "easy win" and thus weaker schools will sometimes play lower division schools.…
