Persuasive Speech On New York
They call New York the city that never sleeps. All bars in the city do not close untilto four o"tmclock in the morning. Let me tell you something, this big place called "New York" is the capital of all the new fashions and old fads. You can go see these teams at Shea Stadium in Flushings, Queens, and The New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. You can buy liquor at anytime during the day because they never close. What I am trying to say is that New York is the inventor of all invertors. No one judges the way you present yourself in this unrestricted environment. You can find whatever item you are looking for, from innovative technology computers to fruits and vegetables on a stand. So keep in mind, if you cannot come across the item

When people lose their dignity, they also lose a part of the very thing that makes them human. Despair, hopelessness, fear and apathy are all ways a human can lose their humanity. The eyes provide a window onto the soul, and thus a view on the person's mental state. The eyes also function in reverse, as a symbolic gesture of control over someone. All of this is present in Night, by Elie Wiesel, an account of human tragedy, human cruelty, human dignity, and the loss thereof.…

Inventors and entrepreneurs from around the country and around the world came to the Columbian Exposition to show off their goods. Visitors could feast their eyes on “the first zipper, the first-ever all electric kitchen, which included an automatic dishwasher... a new, oddly flavored gum called Juicy Fruit, and caramel-coated popcorn called Cracker Jack” (Larson 247). Many- if not all- of these products are still commonly seen today, which is proof of the success of the innovators at the fair. Forward-thinking innovators provided 19th century Americans with commodities made available today to 21st century Americans, despite the initial disbelief of the visitors to the fair that any of the products would be successful. Consequently, this shows that the public became open to the developments and new opportunities found in their rapidly changing world, and even embraced them. One other amazing opportunity made available to the public was that visitors were able to experience “the most elaborate demonstration of electric illumination ever attempted and the first large scale of alternating current,” the same type of electric current that soon would be integrated the homes of the spectators (Larson 254). The world was transforming from one of oil lamps and candlelight to one of lightbulbs and convenience. Citizens could be safer at night and…

Being Miss South Atlanta is not just a title in my opinion, it is something I have desired to become throughout my few years of high school. I have been a student attending South Atlanta High School since August 2014. School spirit was just something my school lacked. Last year, happened to be the first year I truly enjoyed homecoming, and as I stated I have been here since 2014. If I am elected Miss South Atlanta I will work with SGA and 12th grade Student Body in order to mark 2018 a year to remember.…

A very important and vital requirement for an invention is a new ‘idea’ instead of reformulation of an existing idea. We often use the word ‘Innovation’ synonymously with invention yet there is whole lot of difference. An innovation only becomes an invention when it’s been put into practise. Many of the inventions do have the potential to solve practical problems or to satisfy human needs and make life easier, but they can only earn the title of innovation when they fulfil this potential of solving. This difference can only be elaborated by the distribution of electrical power according to alternating current. Nikola Tesla invented the poly-phase AC system in 1882 and sold his patent to Westinghouse electric and manufacturing company who further developed the concept into an innovative technology making Alternating Current power available for industrial use and street lighting.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…
