Pet Observation Essay

Vet Observation Death is inevitable, and the thought of death and the aftermath terrifies most people. Knowing one will die in comfort eases this terror. No one can say animals do not have the same thoughts as humans. Many members in the Hallsville community regard their pets as family members and feel directly affected by the loss of their pet. This negatively effects the mental state of pet owners. The Hallsville Vet provides medication for pets that need to be put down. The medication allows the pet to die in comfort, feeling no pain, and helps the mind of the owner losing their pet. The Hallsville Veterinary Clinic portrays a comforting atmosphere for sick or injured animals through the smells, sights, and sounds found in the building. As I walked into the Vet, the lobby gave off a calm feel. No chaos appeared in the room, everything
The animals are taken to these rooms to be put down or operated on. The exam rooms give off a compassionate feel regardless of the pain that occurs within the room because through that pain the animal finds peace. The rooms felt small and closed off from the rest of the clinic, which provides privacy for the owner and the pet. The walls glow bright green with pictures of healthy and happy animals hanging for the owners to see. The only sound heard is the vet talking to the owner and the pet. The room gives off a feeling of warmth and optimism. Passed the door of the exam rooms is the kennel area. The kennels contained animals being boarded or recovering from surgery. The kennels felt inviting and homie. The room did not smell as the lobby did; it smelt more of animal fur than medication and cleaner. The room appeared very clean and organized, which keeps the room easily accessible. In each kennel is a piece of the pets’ home. The owner will leave a blanket or a toy with the smell of the pets’ home concealed in the item. This helps keep the pet from becoming overly home
