A dog will provide unwavering love and loyalty, not to mention protection, but there are down sides to having a dog as well. Dogs will not question your authority, and can, in time, be trained to do exactly as they are told. They are more playful and active than cats. There are many species of dogs, and they come in varying sizes. Smaller dogs such as poodles and terriers are for people who just need an extra friend. Larger dogs like german sheperds or laboradors can provide protection as well as companionship. Dogs require a lot of attention, and they will make sure their owners are aware of it. They must be taken regularly for walks outside. They need to be bathed and brushed as they are not good at grooming themselves. A dog cannot be left alone in the house for too long. They easily get bored and lonely and will eat furniture and destroy their home. Dogs bark, which may disturb neighbors or keep you awake at night. They are harder to housebreak, and can easily ruin floors during the training process. Dogs also require more veterinary…

Companionship is the number one reason I chose to adopt a dog. For instance, when you wake up in the morning they don't care if you have morning breath and no make-up, they will be there to greet you good morning. Also, you know when you come home everyday your dog will always be happy to see you. After a long stressful day they will meet you at the door tail wagging ready to give you hugs and kisses because you're home. It makes all your stress and worries go right out the door. Whether you need someone to cuddle with in bed or company on the couch watching a movie, your dog will always be there for you. The loyalty of dogs is quite amazing and they always want to be by you side. In fact, just walking from room to room in your home you'll be followed. Dogs will never be judgmental, they don't care about the kind of house you live in, the car you drive or what name brand clothes you wear, they will love you for you. You might be feeling emotional, angry, or even talking out loud to yourself about your horrible day, your dog will be there listening and wagging its tail. If you are late feeding them they won't complain. If you raise your voice because they did something wrong they will always forgive you. There are many other benefits to owning a dog but surely your dog will become your sidekick. Many owners make their dogs a significant part of their family.…
