communications and computer intelligence support throughout the SEVENTH Fleet area of responsibility.
His specific accomplishments include:
- He was nominated as Detachment Sasebo Bluejacket of the Quarter for the Second and Fourth Quarter for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014, Junior Sailor of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter of FY15 and Junior Sailor of the Year for FY15.
- As Assistant Command Fitness Leader (ACFL), he directly led 14 military detachment personnel in 300 physical training sessions, 10 mock physical fitness assessments (PFA) and assisted in the administration of 6 official PFA cycles. His innovative approach towards physical readiness, his motivational leadership style and willingness to help out his fellow Sailors, resulted in him spending 30 off-duty man-hours helping Sailors attain their fitness goals. This high level of commitment directly led to a flawless record of ZERO body composition assessment or PFA failures in the past three years. It also helped 60 percent of detachment personnel score an excellent or higher in the PFAs.
- As Command Training Petty Officer, his outstanding leadership and meticulous planning played a vital role in ensuring NCTS FE Detachment Sasebo compliance in the Navy’s general military training (GMT) requirements for two consecutive years. His strong planning and execution of training resulted in 100 percent completion of all GMT requirements well before October 2015, an increase in certification attainment, Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist qualifications and all GMT requirements ahead of schedule for FY16. Additionally, he was singlehandedly responsible for ensuring that all civilian training and locally mandated training requirements were met well ahead of schedule while leading in the front onboard the Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS) Naval installation.
- As the LNSC Technician, he was responsible for the maintenance, availability and reliability of Base Level Information Infrastructure pier internet protocol (IP) services, in which, he executed 170 flawless IP service connections to homeported and numerous visiting units. This relationship facilitated ease for ships across the SEVENTH Fleet Area of Responsibility by enabling faster IP services, DSN phone lines and providing troubleshooting assistance for the ships when they encountered connectivity issues.
- As the IAO, he ensured that 43 Information Systems Technician representatives in the Sasebo area were properly trained and kept up-to-date on changes in ONE-Net policies and procedures. He conducted ten quarterly training sessions. He processed 280 information assurance ONE-Net service desk tickets and 15 USB violations, data spillages and phishing tickets. He assisted in the verification of all CFAS active ONE-Net users and the deletion of 2,000 dormant ONE-Net accounts.
- He was instrumental in Detachment Sasebo obtaining its interim authority to operate for the secured internet protocol router and non-secured internet protocol router networks.
- He volunteered 83 off-duty hours serving the local community and participating in various community relations events.
- Furthermore, he volunteered for CFAS Naval Security, as an Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) member to support the CFAS Security Department in case of an increase in force protection, and assisted the security staff with their manning shortfall. He stood 300 man-hours in ASF watches in addition to standing watch as the Duty Information Systems Technician.
- He logged 400 hours in United Services Military Apprentice Program for personal and professional development.
