My first inclination to become a pharmacist rose out of my concern for other individuals and a significant part of my character is devoted to caring for people and contributing to their overall well-being. Pharmacists give patients a sense of reassurance that they are cared for and instill trust in patients that they are being treated as individuals. I would like to become such a person who is actively involved in treating patients with great care. When I visit the pharmacy and receive consultation about a medication from the pharmacist, I feel that I am being taken care of and helped in a meaningful way. I believe that the Pharm.D program will provide me with an ample opportunity to develop more capabilities enabling me to solve deep multidimensional challenges and also monitor patients closely in their safe use of medicine. This has given me insight with the recognition of the positive impact of pharmaceutical patient care in preventing drug therapy complications, adverse drug interactions as well as monitoring patient complicance. When I reflect on my childhood and when I think about what pharmacy is today, I see a tremendous change.
