Management begins with the forming of groups to accomplish aims that cannot be achieved by an individual otherwise. An efficient management can ensure growth and prosperity of an enterprise. Concepts like planning, executing, controlling and reviewing lie under the purview of management.
However, another component called leadership shares equal importance in the organization. Leadership establishes a harmonious and focused team. No successful historic event can be attributed without the inclusion of a determined leader. A good leader casts his team to the changing circumstances and encourages the morale of his people. As discussed above, management occurs in groups, like wise leadership also involves influencing individuals who share a common objective. An effective leadership is important in better administration. It imparts a programmed behavior within the groups to make an organization more efficient and economical.
Leadership is the art or process of influencing people to perform assigned tasks willingly, efficiently and effectively. Enabling people to feel they have a say in how they do something results in higher levels of job satisfaction and productivity.

For proper and rational processing, a well-defined organizational strategy is fundamental and without the involvement of the concept of management and leadership, no groups can reach to an ultimate decision. Not every leadership style is suited to every organizational strategy. Consequently, the objective must be carefully examined before applying any particular style of leadership. Leadership styles can be either task motivated or relationship motivated. Task motivated leaders are concerned with reaching the projected goal, whereas the relationship motivated leaders are primarily concerned with the development of close interpersonal relationship.
