Within the metaparadigm are key concepts which are person, environment, health, and nursing. The nursing metaparadigm is important because it these four areas are main focus area in nursing. Person can include our patient and/or their family. Nurses should be there to support and empower each patient and their families on progressing to the next stage. Health refers to a holistic and broad spectrum. Health is the medical history, their current health, and their physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. Environment is anything around the patient that affects their wellbeing. Environment may look like physical surroundings but it could be anything that surrounds patients that could aide or decline their recovery. I view the Holy Bible as an instruction manual for us on earth and his love letter to us. I have also articulated my philosophy based upon my personal upbringing and my trials in life that have allowed me to feel deeply how to treat others righteously. In addition, education has given me insight to the many aspects of each person and their needs. I have also been inspired by Florence Nightingale as the first nursing theorist to initiate a clean environment and reduce deaths by reducing unsanitary conditions. Within these teaching, she taught me that the environment plays vital role in assisting in the health and healing.
