Nowadays, urban people could not feel comfortable when they traveling. Actually, living in the city faces many troubles, but the most controversial issue is traffic jam. It normally makes people be in bad mood whenever they travel everywhere. Like other cities on earth, Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is also facing with traffic congestion. Visibly, we could see many causes of the traffic congestion in Phnom Penh, and should be aware of some possible solutions to it.
In my own observation, many roots that enable Phnom Penh traffic to become stuck could clearly be seen. The most important root is increasing the number of population and vehicles. While Phnom Penh is slowly developed and expanded, the number of inhabitants keeps increasing quickly; therefore, Phnom Penh itself usually concerns with overpopulation. Because of the growth of people, the usage of vehicle also increases. As a result, this excessive usage of vehicles also makes the street become crowded. Furthermore, most people do not obey the traffic law, especially young teenagers. This uneducated behavior puts serious danger on other commuters because not obeying the traffic rules not only destroys discipline of the society but also causes accident; the accident that takes place in the middle of the road will disable other vehicles from being moved. Another important aspect, traffic jam usually occurs during the rush-hour (typically, rush-hour is 6:30 am to 9:30 am, from noon to 2:00 pm, and from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm); during these periods of time, people are leaving their homes to their desired places and from other places to their homes. Equally important, while the traffic is crowded, lack of traffic lights and traffic wardens also pushes the traffic into congestion, especially at the crossed points. When drivers from all directions see no traffic lights to obey adding no sight of traffic wardens to control the traffic, they will drive untidily in order to be in front of
