With her mind set on trying something new, and stepping outside of the “teacher box”, and her heart set on finding ways to better meet the needs of ALL of her students, she began looking for financial support through grants, sponsors, and individuals who would support her idea. That’s when Mikell Clifton overheard a phone conversation at the ball filed, between her and TCE’s principal, Mrs. Katie Johnson. It was then that he offered to help on behalf of the Swainsboro Jaycees. Within two weeks the deal was sealed, and the Jaycees had agreed to purchase 30 stability balls for Mrs. Boddiford’s fifth grade students.…

Mrs. Connie Dacus is a Health and Physical Education professor at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. Professor Dacus became a teacher because she saw early on the impact a teacher can have on molding a person’s character. Professor Dacus says that “A teacher spends the majority of his or her day helping you become the best person you can be often with little or no reward but perseveres because of that passion for teaching”. What excites Professor Dacus about her work is seeing the dynamics associated with the final product of learning and teaching. She believes that the values and beliefs associated with teaching must center around what you know to be true which can be based on personal experiences from childhood or through life’s lessons.…
I have been observing in Ms. Chavez's gym class for several weeks now, the first thing she does on Monday morning is write on her white board in the gym explaining what the activity is for each day of the week, on another white board she writes any rules or expectations she has for the students that coincide with the activity that day. The next step she takes is getting all the materials needed for the activity and looks them over to make sure they are in working order and safe for the students to be using. Ms. Chavez stays very conscious of her equipments condition as well as setting up an environment that is promoting healthiness for the students.…

Playing sports has always been something that I enjoy to do, so I decided to play a new sport. And that was volleyball. As a new volleyball player I didn’t know the complete sport of volleyball and how it was played, therefore I began to do research on different successful volleyball players. That is when I came across Destinee Hooker and when I did it made me more desirable about the game and about how to make myself a better person. I instantly started to watch YouTube videos of her from when she was in college at Texas A&M and when she became a professional volleyball player overseas and for our own country. As I began to watch her, I started to follow her throughout the volleyball season. Furthermore I learned the basic steps to volleyball by watching her compete in the games she played. In more detail she was also participated in the London Olympic games for two thousand and twelve which really influenced me as an athlete. Even though the US team did not bring back gold for our country, Destinee as a player brought gold to my heart because she gave it her all in every…
I plan to be a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) when I finish college. The Physical Therapist Assistant program is a two year program. I am positive that this is what I want to be. I can finish school at any time after I become a Physical Therapist Assistant, and become a full on Physical Therapist, if I would ever want to. I will be transferring to Wytheville Community College next year, because Bluefield College doesn’t have the Physical Therapist Assistant program. I am going to Bluefield College my first year to get my general classes done, because my mom works as a secretary there and I get free tuition.…
Physical therapist assistants and physical therapist play an important role in today’s healthcare system. Through the use of physical therapy, which was first put into practice in 460 B.C., physical therapist assistants (pta) and physical therapist (pt) help patients with physical illnesses, injuries, or physical strains to recover and manage their pain. Although they seem similar, physical therapist assistants and physical therapist differ from each other in many aspects but most importantly in what they do, how to become each one, and their pay. Physical therapist assistants work under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. Their job is to observe the patient before, during, and after therapy, noting how they are progressing…

The video gives a personal insight on how having an individual that is certified on sports medicine ultimately provides the students with the correct care for their injuries. If not treated on sight, the chances of permanent injury could rise up noticeably. Overall, the thought of becoming a school athletic trainer has never really came to mind, but after watching the video it made me reconsider the idea of not becoming one. The bonds they make with the students seems to be one to remember for a life-time. Furthermore, the video gives statistics that correlates to the need for schools to have trainers on sight.…
A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a health care provider whose function is to assist the Physical Therapist in the provision of physical therapy and to promote optimal health and function in a patient. A physical therapist will see the patient for the first time to examine then and develop a plan of care that promotes the ability to move, reduce pain, restores function, and prevents disability. The PTA will then follow the plan of care and make sure all the goals are met (About Physical Therapy Assistant Careers, 2017).…

Before we can know where we are going, we must first know where we came from, and the same is true for the educational field. While I am striving for excellence in my career, I must educate myself on the strides my field has made throughout history. Vital lessons can be learned from our nation’s history and the mistakes made in the past. I must reflect on these past strides the educational field has made and continue…
The teacher’s role was to provide a safe and learning environment, encourage students to try to perform to the best of their abilities and facilitate the structure of the curriculum to meet the needs of the students and grade level standards. I could tell she is very supportive to all her students and serve as a motivator because she is always encouraging them to do better and never give up. She also shared a story about her childhood…
