Physical Therapy Application Research Paper
During the interview for my position as a rehab aide I was asked, “What do you hope to gain from this job?” The first thought that ran through my mind was that I wanted to learn and gain experience. This was a perfect opportunity to learn from physical therapists. “I am here for the experience and opportunities that will help prepare me for physical therapy school.” I answered. Six months later, my aspiration toward becoming a physical therapist is more than ever. Reflecting on past experiences and where I want to go in life has been crucial to my current application. Those two classes were Biology I and Chemistry I that I had taken early in my academic career and I have proven my academic ability in every class since then. I also completed Biology II and its corresponding lab to finish out all of my prerequisites required. My application is complete with a Bachelor’s Degree and all required coursework taken. Time management became very useful for me now more than ever as I was starting Chemistry after work at 2:00 PM and finishing the next Biology class in the evening around 6:30 PM. Being able to manage time is a great skill of mine that I have developed over the last year that will allow me to manage the demands of physical therapy school.
The last year has helped me appreciate my desires to become a physical therapist as I have dedicated the last year toward improving my application. As I think of the selfless and caring professionals I have taken the time to learn from, I am reminded on why I decided to pursue physical therapy. I hope to have the opportunity in the future to make a difference in others lives by empowering them toward strength and wellness. Now, I am more well prepared and equipped with a young and innovative mindset that can make a mark on the profession of physical therapy in the
