Do you fear never living a normal life because of recurring pain from an injury? Are you stuck in the house, unable to walk? Do you feel helpless because you cannot do anything? The job of a physical therapist is to get you back to a full life, and he is going to do his best to get you back on your feet as quickly as possible. They teach exercises that make an injured person stronger for a quicker recovery. Physical therapy provides injured people the best method for full physical and mental recovery. Physical therapists, sometimes called PTs, help injured or ill people improve their movement and manage their pain, Physical therapy works in lots of ways that help to reduce or eliminate pain. Hands-on therapy or treatments such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation can help relieve pain and restore muscle and joint function to reduce low back pain, these therapies also can prevent pain from returning, (Role of a PT). PT’s confirm that there is undeniable evidence of the effectiveness of regular physical activity in the primary and secondary prevention of several chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and …show more content…
People who oppose physical therapy usually are trying to save money by not going through therapy. If you choose not to do physical therapy the side effects can be serious. Without physical therapy you wouldn’t know what you can do and what you cannot, that means making a wrong move and you will have to repeat the whole process of the injury. PTs are professional at what they do and won’t push you to do what you can’t do and know how to treat each injury; they will give you a timeline of when they believe you will return back to normal. There is no reason anyone should choose to oppose the physical therapy treatment, other than the fact that physical therapy is a long, strenuous process that can week’s even months to correct the
