The organization that will be the topic of discussion for my final project paper is the Limited Brands; review evaluating reward systems and their impact on performance. Limited Brands owns Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works and Henri Bendel, there are a total of six distribution centers in the Columbus, Ohio area. The product comes in and is sorted tagged and shipped all over the country and just recently into Canada working its way to the international community. Limited Brands has been around since 1962 and has always found a way to make it through tough time and still have the capability of growing. Like many companies in early 2000 and then again when the housing market took a crash around 2006 they knew something had to change. Early 2006 when I was hired on as a Controls Engineer and about two months in, Limited Brands let 400 employees go. They needed to cut the “fat” so they started at the top and worked their way down. Once this was done the company needed to look at itself and say where would we want to be in 10 years? To accomplish their goals they looked at the facilities department and asked us what we could do to save money and get more production out of its associates. So we came up with a few plans one was energy management, we told them that we could go into the PLC and add timers to the conveyor systems. Well they liked the idea just not the time frame it was going to take many hours programming and verifying that everything worked they came back and wanted it done faster but faster is not better so what that meant for us was we had to cut corners and not making it as efficient as we could have. This brings us to the point of this proposal, “evaluating reward systems and their impact on performance.”…

Accounts receivables is a claim against the customer created by selling merchandise or services on credit and are classified on the balance sheets as a current asset. Accounts receivable is generally considered in calculating the value of a business or the business’ problems in paying its own debt. Since I plan to open my own business sometime in the near future, I feel this is a vital concept on which I should have a firm grasp and clear understanding. I don’t want to be overly-eager and buy or start a business and place too high a value to the accounts receivable without considering the chances of collection and placing myself in a position where I may have more debt than profit. Accounting has provided me with useful concepts on accounts receivable and I feel that I am now more prepared to enter the next phase of the business world.…
