Piedad Canola, my beloved mother, planted the seed to my career goals many years ago. My mother was born in Medellin, Colombia along with eleven other siblings. She didn't complete much in her life because of the desperate need to help her mother support and maintain their large family. Because her mother needed her help to raise the family, the highest level of education my mother received was the fifth grade.Years later she met my father, Francisco. He married my mother and brought her to the United States. My father worked long hours in order to maintain two kids and a wife.
