Pilots Slope Essay
This math project is about how careers are using math in everyday life. My project is on slopes and I decided to do a pilot. Slope is a line that is a number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line, slope is usually denoted by the letter m. I picked a pilot because it seemed the most interesting to me. I’m going to be explaining how, what, when, and where pilots use sloping and other skills. Pilots use slope to determine where to land and when to put the wheels down. Being a pilot is a very important job, with the importances of skills like sloping.
Pilots use slopes in everyday life. One way pilots use slope is to determine where to land and when to put the wheels down on a aircraft. If the slope isn't matched up to the line of measurement, it will shift the landing making it harder to land correctly and safe. When flying, the pilot has to learn and interpret the percentage of putting down

The pilot has to change the direction by changing the angle of the plane, but if turned to much you will go the wrong way. They also have to map out the ground speed, because the higher the ground speed is the higher the plane goes. Sloping is one of the most important things of knowing how to fly an aircraft, without slopes pilots wouldn’t know where or how to fly the plane. Slope is one of the many things you need to know about flying any kind of aircraft.
Pilots need many other skills to be able to do their job. One skill is leadership, because if there is a problem you need to take charge of the problem and correct it. The second skill is the pilot needs to know how to work the aircraft, without knowing the aircraft how would you fly it. The third skill is you need to make fast decisions and have communications skills, for the safety of yourself and everyone else on the plane. The fourth skill is you have to be calm and have self-confidence. There are many other skills you need but I listed some of the most

In this laboratory project, I practiced analyzing highway embankment using GeoStudio 2012. A highway embankment is built in order to avoid the change in level. In this model, the embankment was constructed on a layer of soft clay and I needed to use GeoStudio 2012 to determine the location of the critical slip surface and the factor of safety. There are basically eight steps to analyze a new model using GeoStudio 2012. First is to start a new project, then, set the analysis options in KeyIn menu, next is to define the work space in Set menu. After which, set the axes propertied; define the material properties; set the problem geometry; draw the entry and exit points of the critical circle. After finishing all the setup, we are…

For instance, in pumping operations, rise over run calculations are essential, along with friction loss per foot of a pressure and volume of a moving water column in a hose line. You need to be quick thinking on your feet and know what formula/calculation you will be using because most of these calculations will be used in pressure situations. In a fuel loading situation, a basic formula is used to calculate given structure depending on its use and resources needed, including water supplies. Trigonometry and geometry are used to determine a given slope and fuel load as well. Temperature, wind direction and speed calculations are essential to safe brush and forest fire extinguishing. Firefighter aircrews have to use math to determine their fuel requirements and angle of attack for air drops of water and retardant over a wild land fire.…

During the Civil war, the North and South were deeply crashed in the horrifying situation. In the North the Union stands in place to let the South know that Southerners are weak, while in the South, they wanted to be proved as a Southern nationalism. In the South, Jefferson Davis who does not approve with Abraham Lincoln in the North, he had argued that the South has the right to be divided and independent. Which is why all the start of warlike strategy comes in place and is still passed on to the modern days. During the time period of 1861-1865 in both the North and leaders such as General William Sherman, Philip Sheridan, and Robert E. Lee has all contributed to the tactic. And there are many reasons why the Total War was a necessary and was very effective toward the Civil War.…

In the aftermath of the previous year’s I realized that if I put my mind and effort in something I can do it. Math was a subject that I thought was going to always bring me down. But since my love for sports is greater I knew I had work I had to do, and now I actually love math. When given the chance I watch math video on YouTube. I have a favorite YouTuber names Vsause. His videos contain a mixture of science, math, and physiology. One particular video that is my favorite is when he is describing how humans have sent out many messages out in space that gives out a descriptions of who and what we are and things that are popular in our society at the time; as well as the coordinates to our location. It’s so interesting how math has a major part in life and in everything we do. When in geometry class I thought to myself “How is this going to help me in the future?” But later on, when reading the history of math, geometry is actually useful. We use if for many things like architectural designing, and in computer…
