Plagiarism
It's happens all around the world, everyday, people in the world steal someone else's belongings from them. It is one of the biggest issues going on in the world. It can vary from stealing someone's money to stealing someone's paperwork. When someone steals or copies someone else's work without proper citation saying that it isn't the persons work, it is called plagiarism. Plagiarism is also known as acedmic dishonesty. The definition of plagiarism according to google dictionary is "the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own"(1). Plagiarism is told to students across the world in schools. When in some highschools plagiarism isn't taken as seriously as it should be. Highschool is mainly meant to prepare students for going into the work force, college, or university. When in unviersity or college, the teachers there take plagiarism very seriously. Some highschools and almost every university and college in the country have softwares that the teachers use to out work in that has been handed in by their students and it checks if it has been plagiarized at all. Students that get caught plagiarizing can or and will get in serious trouble. If you are caught plagiarizing in some schools, the teachers and principles usually decide what the discipline should be. It can range from detention, a failing mark on the plagriazed work, being kicked out of the school, and even jail time and being sued if it is serious enough.
Schools don't take plagriazed lightly at all. Plagiarizing is not taken lightly, if you get away with it, you are very lucky. Handing in plagriazed work to a teacher is like playing Russian routlette. Students are being taught everywhere about how not to plagiarize because the teachers don't want to be the ones that kick someone out of a school or giving them a failing mark. The teachers are there to help you, not punish you. However, if you do something bad like plagriaze, the teachers are going to have to discipline you. So to sum this up, don't plagriaze, always cite your work properly.
Don't take plagriaism lightly.
