Plain Hell In To Kill A Mockingbird
"Entity" means independent existence much like ghosts which are well-known but rarely see. It shows that the Radley Place is living like ghosts and doesn't appear in the Maycomb community. Although the Radley can be seen as the ghost, but in Scout and Jem's mind, Mrs. Dubose is the one who they are actually hated and afraid of most in the town when Scout introduces her as "plain hell". This can imply that Scout is adult-like, rude, and disrespectful to elder people.
In today's world, living like the Radley is hard because how the world actually contains many things to do outdoor unlike the town of Maycomb. When Scout said that Mrs. Dubose as plain hell, it can imply that the child is impolite and uneducated because educated children don't
like being rude to older people. Mrs. Dubose can also be seen as unfriendly with children, and contrasting ideas with Scout.
